BA, was 100% right except for small details like Daisybabe pointed out.

This movie is NOT a scary movie like you are ment to believe. This has to be the biggest movie scam I have EVER witnessed. FUCK M. NIGHT SHYAMAYLAN and his DUMB ASS NEW MOVIE!!!

I want my $$ back and I don't EVER say that...

the movie was disappointing, for sure.
it is NOT a horror movie.

do NOT expect a horror movie.

expect some suspense, for sure.

from a movie standpoint, it was pretty good.

M.Night uses setting and mood really well.

Red, of course, is another essential color.

SENSE and UNBREAKABLE)

the problem with this movie is, it's basically
a long ass epsiode of the TWILIGHT ZONE.

in fact, the TZ has done more with similar ideas
in far less time... this movie consisted of so many
scenes where bitches are just walking in, pondering
a look, saying one sentence, and then ... next scene.

not only did M.Night feel the need to twist us... but he
had to twist on the twist and then twist it back to the
original twist....

i hope this is his swansong when it comes to the twist
ending... it's getting too distracting now as people
start to LOOK for the twist rather than just letting it
happen.

Phoenix's freak out moment on Bryce's porch was
mint. Bryce's acting was phenomenal. Brodie's
acting was ONLY good when he stabbed Phoenix,
revealed blood on his hands, and his final death
scene... which had NO emotional impact whatsoever.

all of the other actors' (Michael Pitt, Weaver, and Hurt)
were grossly under-used. (Pitt, altho' he bothers me,
is a wonderful actor... and if he doesn't get chastised for
his willingness to portray gay or slightly gay men, he
will be one of the great actors of his day... tip: work on the
posture, lad... you're not brooding ALL the time.)

if you MUST see it, go see it on a matinee when you can
sneak into a second movie... that way, you get two movies
for $6.50. it's not worth full price ...

the movie was scary only 5% of the time, the rest was a stupid love story and some comedy. Damn this movie sucked, i wasted 7.50. If you like stupid movies go see this one!

I didn't hate it... found it somewhat entertaining. Whoever wrote that spoiler wrote how it happened, yes, but M.Night did bait and switch in an entertaining way. I don't know about the rest of you but I don't go to all movies looking to come out of it in tears or refreshed. I dont know.

I had been thinking that it would probably be pretty crap. OK so its a lot different from what i thought it was gona be - yeah i read the spoiler - but it still doesnt really strike me as being an amazing film.

Well thanks all - you've saved me the need to see it at the cinema - another one to wait until it comes on DVD.

I thought this movie kicked ass. But then again, I also thought Unbreakable kicked ass. I think the trouble is, everyone goes into his movies expecting them to be like the 6th sense and go in looking for a twist and expecting to be scared. The "twist" or whatever was pretty obvious, and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be that way. Maybe they shouldn't have marketed it as a scary movie, but I kind of liked that they did because that way the audience goes in with the same mindseet as the children/main characters in "the village" and so get a better idea of where they are coming from.

But yeah, I thought the movie was really cool. And even though everyone hates the story, I thought it brought up a lot of moral questions and I *really* appreciated its mythological undertones (fall from innocence, heroes journey etc. etc.) Even though we'd all like to stay in innocence its impossible - everyone in the town was trying to run away from the world to preserve innocence and avoid things like their family members being murdered and yet ironically the most innocent member of the village, the retarded guy, was the one that killed someone. So yeah, I kind of liked its modern myth qualities and thought it was a smart, well crafted movie.

I LOVED IT!

I enjoyed it & as I enjoyed signs but could not explain its meaning I did understand it. While I may not be able to put into words the meaning of the film what I took from it is that we can not allow our fears consum us & make us live in fear because their really is a whole world out there. While others might not take my views to heart I believe this directors purpose with his films are not to give us a "a to b" plot line but to make us think when we leave the cinema. Of course many will think the film sucks because they lack thought process. No offence to anyone here on bl but maybe after a couple more viewings you might enjoy it

M night shamylan is probably the worst director in hollywood, he has one movie worth a damn, maybe 2, his movies never have any replay value and they are all just a reskinning of the plot twist in 6th sense, unbreakable was the shittiest movie i have ever been subjected to, slow as a dog dying from a paper cut and not quite as fun, this guy is a joke, and his hype needs to die, thank god for that spoiler you just saved me 10 bucks, so that is one extra roll for me, glad i saw harold and kumar instead of this shitty movie i was pleasantly suprised by that lmao.
