i liked this movie a lot more the first time i watched it...when it was called "welcome to the dollhouse". 8)

am i the only one who thought this film was absolutely terrible and not the least bit funny?

leave this brand of deadpan-cult humor to the likes of wes anderson or the cohens, who actually have some semblance of wit, please.

The movie had the potential to be funny, but it just wasn't.
The Cohen brothers definitely are best at making hilarious movies with absolutely no plot (I love The Big Lebowski). I just don't get why everyone thinks this movie is so good. I guess this is one of those movies, like Gummo, that some find hilarious and others just sit there going "wtf?"

I give it 4 stars. Beautiful, original, great soundtrack, and I also liked that prety much every character in the movie was played by someone I've never seen before, with the exception of the waterworld girl. This movie had a TON of heart. I always enjoy movies about the underdogs...

All the characters were great.. If you asked me what I thought this movie was about, I'd say it's just about the characters and how they interact. Simple as that. Very few movies make me laugh out loud as many times as this one did. Four stars, 9 out of 10.

I just saw this film on New Year's, and I really liked it. Like a friend of mine said, almost everyone either was or knows someone who was (or is) like Napoleon; that was a big thrill. At its best, it was side-splittingly funny, and I loved the fact that it had a lot of heart; this would be a great date movie. I also thought it was interesting in that it had a series of vignettes rather than a solid plot. The only thing that kept me from giving it four stars was that...

--I thought the ending was just a little too glib. Call me a cynic, but I feel that in real life Summer would have won, and they would have laughed the poor guy offstage.

But all in all, this was a great movie, and I highly recommend it.

Wow, ill just say I want to beat each cast memeber with a different numbered golf club. I dont get how this movie isnt just another stupid teenager movie. Have the caracters do something retarded out of the blue and dont explain it, thats the formula for making money i guess.

I thought Napoleon riding the horse was easily the funniest part. His posture, outfit, and facial expression.

i agree with fairnymph, though i didn't really like it all.

i'm all for irreverance and indulgence in our inner geek, but this just all seemed so pointless. it's funny, because i was expecting to *really* enjoy this, and everybody whose opinions i normally agree with did...strange.
