The most random, laughable movie I have seen in years. This one will go down in history, believe me. Probably the most quotable movie I have ever seen as well, so many one liners and they never get old.
I enjoyed the main charecter. he to me was the most fully realized 3d cahrecter i ahve seen for a while. he was a dork true but he wasnt fearful of speaking up for himself nor starting a fight with his large uncle. I grew up in the midwest and i kid you not i had to do a sign launguage dance to that same corney fucking song! anyways if you want to see a movie that is so familiar you cant stand it yet so eschwed from what you think should eb normal than go see this movie.
It just got released in the UK. Funniest film I've seen in an aeon. Loved the soundtrack too. "Forever young, do you really want to live forever, forever, whenever"......
i just watched the DVD yesterday...haven't had a chance to get to the extras. the sound and video transfer are excellent for a movie that was shot for $500,000.
this is probably one of the few movies that i would like to see a sequel for. the main character was on letterman the other night reading the top ten list, and when he interjected a "lord of the rings rules!" i realized that there are plenty of other geeky adventures napoleon cound be a part of.
^ Oooh, you're telling that to the wrong person, buddy! I'm well-versed in the above!
As far as the movie goes .... I don't have issues with a film that isn't about anything, but the problem I had with Napoleon Dynamite was that I couldn't figure out whether it's supposed to be about something or not. There were some gems in the film, to be sure, and the relationship between Napoleon and Pedro was laid out nicely, but it felt like there was something lacking. Hell if I know what it is.
this was really cute...sometimes it's good just to have a sweet clean movie that's not about anything...good comic relief and fluff and catch phrases for the soul
let me tell you all that this movie takes on a whole new meaning when you've grown up in utah or idaho. they satirized (sp?) small town mormons PERFECTLY.
