hi j22

if this is all the case (did you research and write this all yourself?) then you should have no trouble snaring the $10,000 reward. perhaps you would upload a picture of the check before you cash it?

I hate all these people claiming that moores movie is full of lies, it's all the same bullshit comments over and over again - it's really tiring to think people actually have hope in their president and his failing schemes.

the thing is, no one can prove moore wrong - you are only kidding yourself if you think otherwise, many people have tried and all have failed.

there's not one case in his movie where it's a proven lie, so go and sit down all you moore haters and find something else to do.

as said- two sides
i can, just as easily as j22, post moore's retort and his facts

http://www.michaelmoore.com/warroom/f911notes/

even more lengthy
moore had the top fact checker in the country, and part of a previous whitehouse working on this. he made a "war room" to defend against factual attacks
he made sure he was correct in facts. many of the grievences are such ones as moore said "a" but didnt qualify it with "b", "c" and "d". he believes, i would assume, that not breaking down the data or adding what comes after fact "a" does not make the orginal stated fact untruthful.

the idea of moore making money off of the death of my friends on 911 makes me sick, I hope he goes fucking bankrupt

"people of bluelight this is j22"

[/joke that would've been funny had you seen the film.... well kinda funny]

so where is your 10,000 dollars?

seriously, don't you think that if there were a chance any of it were total bullshit - that someone wouldn't be begging for a check by now?

no one can prove moore wrong (yet) (this time), especially not someone on bluelight posting other peoples research articles.

...(did you research and write this all yourself?)...

Did we ever get a response to this? Copying and pasting what some other guy wrote about this movie is no better than the tactics Moore used to "stretch" the truth in this film.

At any rate, such heated debate about a film like this really disappoints me. Nobody should be so worked up about this film as many people have been made by it (not necessarily BLers, but people in general), whether you are liberal or conservative. All Moore wanted to do here was stir up some controversy, and by being so easily swept up into it all, you make him the victor, before anyone had even watched his damn movie. This film was like a blank check to Moore; he didn't have any money from it before the film was released, but it was right there in front of him, just waiting for him to do something about it, such as release the film/sign the check.

For what this film really is, I think it is absolutely hilarious. Furthermore, I believe that is all it was intended to be, Unfortunately, a few million people had to get their panties in a bundle about it. The next thing you know people are claiming that this is a serious documentary designed to show nothing but the purest form of truth about the ways of our government! ::gasp!!:: It is nothing but political satire here, and well, I'd say it is political satire at its absolute finest. It sure has riled up a lot of people!

Could the moral of this large, odd story be this: By making such a controversial film, Moore has, to a large extent, effectively divided people into two groups regarding his film. Those in total favor of it, and those who vehemently oppose it. Through doing this, Moore has illustrated how pathetically easy it is to sway the average American voter into being completely for or against a certain person, group, or political agenda. A film like this truly shows how incompetent, uneducated, and stupid the average American voter is and how they completely lack any ability to read through the lines and see the truth that lies somewhere in the middle, not miles off to the right or left.

I think I'm done with political debate on BL.

It does no good. People dont care.

There is no good in trying to educate people who have no desire to see the truth or care what the facts say. None...it's bigotry in its purest form to be honest. If you are happy living your life with Michael Moore as your messiah and wont ever think outside the liberal box many of you have placed yourself in, then so be it. It's a waste of my time to extensively research and try to show anyone that Moore is consistently and constantly wrong. It's just as pointless as me to do the same to show how wrong and hypocritical Rush Limbaugh is. I'm a free thinking independent, and I hope one day everyone will be that way, but it's not up to me.

I'll kindly remove myself from this thread. Seriously...I'm writing a column using all of the facts and sources posted...if you want a copy when I'm done, IM me and I'll send it. If you don't care to look at facts, then dont bother. But as far as political debate on BL and trying to get people to see all the facts and sides, youd have a better chance making eggs by ramming your head into a wall repeatedly.

EDIT: sorry for the preaching, im hungover and in a crabby mood.

ummm... I took it as this was his reaction to honor those "friends" from 9/11. Instead of having their lives exploited by an Admin to whip the american public in a frenzy to back whatever war he wanted.

Point in case: Moore doesn't even show visually the 9/11 attacks in F 9/11. The screen is completely black.

nice link.

"A reminder that a nation not only can, but should, ask why."

"He has, in short, made Middle America think again. He has cracked the GOP's frozen ideological sea, showed us all one thing we have so desperately forgotten: America does not, after all, have to be this way, and its citizens do, in fact, have a choice.

And, for that reason, "Fahrenheit 9/11" is perhaps the most wonderfully patriotic film ever made.

I agree with a lot of the link.

People asked if there were inconsistencies or lies in the post, and I posted some that I thought to be true and after watching the movie agreed with.

I'm not saying anything about Moore as a person, and I'm not saying that the 10 or so "flaws" in his movie make it a reason not to watch it. I'm also not saying its ineffective. I respect Moore a lot for many reasons. Number 1 being that he has a firm system of beliefs and he stands up for them on a daily basis.

Infact, I voted that the movie was a 3 out of 4 stars (and would say 3.5 if there were an option). I think people are misinterpreting my post with me actually bashing Moore or calling the guy a fat asshole. I'm not. Someone simply asked a question and I answered.

This movie didn't teach me anything i didn't already know, however i'm sure it taught alot of people alot, and swayed alot of votes in the american presidential election.

It was on the whole pretty boring.

He did a good job with the 'slapp and educate' factor, especially when that dude threw the little kid in the back of the ute.

Fahrenheit clear of Oscar threat

A suspected pirate version of Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 9/11 shown in Cuba on Thursday will not make the film ineligible for next year's Oscars.

The movie's US distributor said the TV broadcast was "not authorised".

Academy Award rules state that documentary films will be disqualified if shown on TV or the internet within nine months of release.

But an unauthorised or pirate display would not make it ineligible, said Academy spokesman John Pavlik.

"If somebody steals your movie and puts it on TV, we're not going to penalise you for it," said Mr Pavlik.

Popular

He said the Academy had not investigated the film's prime-time broadcast in Cuba last Thursday.

The film, which alleges that US President George Bush was unprepared for the 11 September attacks, played to packed Cuban cinemas for a week earlier this month.

Producers of Moore's film have until 1 September to submit the movie for the best documentary Oscar category.

The Academy rule regarding internet and TV broadcasts only applies to documentaries. Producers could also decide to enter Fahrenheit 9/11 for best picture, best director or best original screenplay.

Last year's Academy Award for best documentary feature was won by Errol Morris for his film Fog of War, about former US Defence Secretary Robert McNamara.

Moore won it the year before for his anti-gun film, Bowling for Columbine.
