festivals 2010

We should have a Bluelight Serbia meetup at Exit Fest :D

Who's all going/planning to go?

D3ck8rd, don't expect anything better than what's going about the UK. Same shit all over the place. But we can always hope for an MDMA revival by July.

i've got my ticket sorted for EXIT.

Should be sick. Although I was hoping Hawtin was going to be there again this year.

Is anyone going to Melt! Festival in Germany?

Never been nor heard of it until this year, going with a few of us, looks like it could be fun although not sure if will be able to get many exciting treats out there?

Bit backwards to sort flights, accomodation and everything else out but not the actual tickets mate.

Not really, I don't expect it to sell out soon. The flight prices were getting dearer & dearer the longer we waited, decent accommodation was all getting booked up etc. The cash had to go on that shit first, it was more likely that the flights would get crazy expensive & the decent places to stay would be gone before the festival sold out.

I may be completely wrong though & end up marching about Serbia on my own every night while everyone else is at the festival :\

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Boom Festival in Portugal HASN'T sold out yet!! WOOP!

Adds to my list - really REALLY have to go...there's so many people I know going, and I will be able to do it if I work at Secret Garden Party...might have to give Sunrise a miss though - it's pretty soon :(

Just been invited to Bestival too, with a shitload of old hippy heads. HMMMMMMMM

Hmmmm Serbia. Beograde is a fucking dump, horrible place. Nis was a quaint and scenic little place with some interesting places of historic interest (Nazi Cocentration camp, Roman ruins, temple of skulls etc) but wasn't overly exciting.

I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Crackhead why you so sure the festival won't sell out Does it not usually? Definitely getting more popular these days like heard of a few folk going.

You're favourite band Papa Roach is playing mate, get in!

EDIT: Nah there not this is some other festival not in Serbia I'm looking at. :D

RE-EDIT: It's OK though you're second favourite Mika is playing at EXIT.

Eh, I don't know actually. I better get on it soon. I was planning on getting them at the end of the month when I get paid. I paid for the accommodation this month & spent loads of cash on drugs. I need to get more drugs & spend more cash for Jooris Voorn at Pressure on the 28th, I'm a bit skint.

First one is Rockness =D then a major sesh in Prague and Amsterdam for mates 19th then off to Belgium for I Love Techno in October. There will be more too, I'm determined!

Festivals at home could be my holidays this year due to lack of funds so I think it will be:
Electric Picnic
Life as haven't been yet.
Would go just to hear this tune if Eat Static play it

Hah that's so cool, I had that track on a cassette years ago and I'd forgotten the artist, thanks, I'm off to download some Eat Static.

Life fetival is getting closer folks and the weather is gonna be amazing, get on down to the gar!!!

Don't worry about the tickets Crackhead. I don't think it sells out seeing as you can saunter on up each night and buy tickets at the gate. :) It's just a hell of a lot more expensive, so best get them in advance.

Not all about pretty things, Spadey boy. Atmosphere and energy are what count in Belgrade. :) Though, to be fair, Belgrade can actually be very pretty looking in the summer, just stay in the centre, otherwise it does look like a sunny dump. :D

I hadn't even heard of Nis until the morning I boarded the train for it, just thought 'need to get out of this dump Belgrade' pulled up google maps and saw that Nis seemed like a fairly big city and wasn't too far away. Off to the train station.

Me: "I want to go to Nis please".
Trainstation bloke: "where?".
Me: "Nis"
Him: "What is Nis"
Me: "Nis, the city Nis. N-I-S. Nis"
Him: "Oh you mean Niche, it's really very easy to pronounce"
Me: "Aye dead easy, that'll be the one Nis".

Off I went and when I got there I actually considered getting right back on that train (heading for Istanbul it was) because when you first get off that train it looks like a rundown ghost town. Walked to what I thought was the main street, all the shops were closed and I thought fucking hell there's nothing here. Eventually realised the train centre is a fucking trek from the city centre when I spotted a hotel and a Maccy Dee's and discovered the real centre. Then I started to like it.

Anyway what the fuck am I doing derailing this thread. Tempted to go to a Euro festy myself, looked as Sizget in Hungary but not many bands I like on the lineup, there's some wee reggae n shit festival in Croatia that's sposed to be cool. Twice in the past couple weeks I've seen a program on the Snowbombing festival in the mountains of Austria, looks fucking wild, snowboarding and skiing during the day, street parties, top bands and DJs, forest parties, igloo parties at the top of mountains, fancy dress, people rallying from the UK to the festival in old clapped out motors. Sounds wicked.
