festivals 2010

glade is better lineupwise and the not being a pikey-filled commercial shitfestwise also

Okay, its been a little bit updated :)

Glade festival (student tickets, horray!)
Fullmoon festival in Germany
Ozora festival in Hungary

Gonna be an awesome summer =D

Glaaaade and boomtown, got my tickets all sorted :)

Quite fancy beatherder too even if the line up isn't grabbing me hugely (altho there is a prodigy tribute band playing! hehe) but not sure if I'll make it..

Going to reading this year. Would have much rather gone to somewhere else, but it was the one all my mates were going to, so thought i would come along ;).

Big Chill here. :)

Did Global Gathering a couple of years ago and it scared the shit out of me. Pikey-lookalike inbred people know how to get PROPERLY FUCKED UP.

Good on yer.

Have you been before?

Yeah, not too sure about GG, it just sounds a mess.

When I went to Global in 05/06/07 I found that the police, dogs, searches etc were very thorough as everyone was going into the campsite on the Friday afternoon, but later in the evening once pretty much everyone was in they fucked off. Then as long as you had a camping band you could come and go from the site to your car as you pleased and only had to pass a couple of bored, studenty-looking festival security types who checked your wristband and probably couldn't have given a shit if you had a thousand pills in your pocket.

I might do the Saturday at Creamfields this year. The lineup is good and one-day tickets are a reasonable price. Camping is too much of a pain in the arse anyway.

Cool :)
How do you plan on getting there? I'm just looking @ flights on Easyjet now trying to price things up in my head. Tickets 100euros, flights i've seen so far seem to be about £147 return. And then 60euros for the airport/festival shuttle bus..

Sounds like a really cool festival, a bunch of friends from Oxford are going, but they're doing a road trip there and back. I definitely need some time to unwind. Although i'm not sure trippin on LSD for 7 days classes as unwinding ;)
I fly to Vienna and then drive with some Austrian friends to the festival site. Can't remember how I get back :)

might have to pick you up on this point bro

If you are into EDM i.e. dance music (House, Techno, Trance etc) then GG has the best line up (by far) out of any UK (well England) festival -- look at their line up. It's basically a whos-who list of everyone in the DJ Mag top 100 list.

If you are after more artistic electronic music, think orbital, tricky (not constant 4/4 beats) -- yes more trendy, cool, sophisticated, better crowd etc, fine goto glade!

Global might be shit but it has the line up

artistic...trendy, cool, sophisticated

lolwut? i'm there for the gabba ;)
there's just a better mix of genres at glade, not much trance (except psy) but plenty of house, techno, breaks, dnb, dubstep, hardcore, breakcore and even hip hop and grime this year haha

what kind of work you after? these people are supposed to be good for bar work

Stewarding would be best as you have the best chance to see bands and I have experience, although amount of cash would help :)

EDIT: I like the look of some of the smaller festivals that peppermint have done.

Greenstewards - google it.

I used to do the Big Green Gathering every year til the man shut it down last year :( SO UPSET!

Might be doing Sunrise this year, going to Hop Farm festival (BOB DYLAN!!), almost definitely working at Secret Garden Party, hopefully going to Boom festival in Portugal if there's still tickets(although I have a feeling this might not be possible), Boomtown is one I've wanted to do, Smallworld summer gathering, Glade maybe, aaaand Shambala here in the UK.

Might actually go to ONE day of Leeds festival to see GnR and Cypress Hill (I think??), or it might be RAtM...

Does anyone know if The Glade does day tickets?

Ideally I'm looking for an additional day ticket to a electronic festival in the UK (Just because I dont have the funds for another 'full' festival to add to the list)

Any suggestions?

Download tickets are sorted. Not long to go now. Always a relaxed atmosphere, and no dogs or excessive searches (except the time I managed to sneak a 125ml bottle of GBL into the main arena, even after an almost invasive search by some complete bellend).
