I think that supporting parenting rights for men can be totally consistent with feminism. If you interpret feminism as against patriarchy (rather than against men per se), then promoting (and valuing) men's ability to do what is traditionally considered to be "women's work" is definitely feminist!

My impression is that many of the nay-sayers against feminism don't really know what feminism is - check it out chaps (and chapettes) and you may find we're all on the same side after all!!

Personally; i grew up surrounded by powerful, strong women. My mother is single & has raised my family from the ground up with zero outside assistance and is frankly, my hero of sorts. That said, she doesn't give a fuck about posting shit on internet forum about how she should be respected and given more money, just because men can. She goes out and proves that she is the best at what she does and demands the very best treatment based solely on her skills. She doesnt wait for legislation for popular culture to tell her what her rights are. She makes them. prove you are every bit as capable as a man and then make your demands. dont cry on the internet and waiting for change

In Australia the male bowerbird, like the satin bowerbird on the left, builds a bower only for courtship display. Once he has seduced & impregnated a female he abandons her, & she as a single parent has to build her own nest which is practical for hatching & raising chicks.

Can someone please tell me where I've complained about Doofqueen bumping her own threads recently? I know I've done it in the past, but my input to this discussion today was fair and square.

Edit: I've just realized where. I wasn't complaining and I didn't mean it in a mocking way at all - it actually related to the post that I think Doofqueen removed. Unless I read a post of hers at the end of another page, and thought it was the final page [that happens occasionally.]

Either way, my remark on this occasion was in innocence.
 
I have never removed any posts.... i stand by what i say all the time. I admit when i'm wrong sure but i don't think i've ever deleted anything.

but yes... i'm sure everything you say towards me (from past experience) is all innocent.

What is with feminist-leaning women & over-compensation?

I watch a female bouncer get knocked clean out last night for being belligerent and aggressive toward a patron with no ID. he was clearly over 30 and attempting to plead his case to management; he left on his own accord but called her a "cunt" on the way down at which point she followed and grabbed his collar;

he react by throwing an elbow back and hitting her in the face; now she lose her job, license, any skerrick of respect from patrons or colleagues, probably her own self-confidence, not to mention any ability to breathe through her nose

I get no joy in seeing women beaten up but that was pure irony and probably inevitable in that she was clearly way out of depth, and only in the job because some legislation said she has to be allowed to.

now she's injured and looks like an idiot, simply cause she felt she had to prove herself to males at large

That was completely my fault, katmeow, and I want to apologise for diverting the topic from judging a social and political movement by discussing the actions of bouncers. As I'm sure we well know, we often turn to the actions of bouncers when we want to guage the success of a theory.

I will take this whole thing much more seriously from now on.
 
awwww the last page or two actually made me giggle the other day. The banter was funny and for the first time in this thread i found it quite amusing. I can't complain though as i bitch when there isn't any moderation and now i'm bitching that all the funny parts are gone :p Thanks for deleting the shit anyway. This thread MOSTLY i think holds some good discussion :)
