I suppose you're right. If an undercover went in there n they didn't ask they're arses would be on fire. Still it just meant more lying for me which strangely became rather natural after awhile.

As an addict lying to get what you need is entirely natural. It's not the pharmacist's fault. You (and I and many others) lie to them to get what we need. What we do is not quite illegal but if they (the pharmacist) realises that we are lying to them and still sells to us they are breaking the law so they have to at least make a token attempt to ask why we are buying "certain medications".

The difference being that banks deliberately sold mortgages to "poor people" knowing they would never be able to make the payments then packaged up bundles of worthless loans to sell on to investors without passing on that rather vital piece of information so they could make money from both ends.

What would the equivalent be in terms of the military? Recruiting bodies to soak up bullets they sold to the other side I suppose. Oh, I see where you're coming from

Sorry Sammy but that has to be one of the stupidest posts I've seen for a long time.

Soldiers don't "sign up for death". They sign up to defend their country and the lives and liberties of its citizens. Without them how much freedom so you think you'd have today?... Roughly non.

It may be "right on" for people of certain political persuasions to mock and even denigrate our armed forces but see how far we would have gotten without them. You wouldn't even have the freedom of speech to make that statement.

Some of the wars our soldiers have fought in in recent times may have been unpopular but they don't choose them.....and they certainly don't "sign up for death".

NATO didn't exist during WWII. It's an entirely different ball-game. You could argue that imperialism was still the root cause, but it's not quite of the same stripe.

In any case, my family was neutral and living in a country which was still under de facto occupation, so the 'freedom' which you cherish would not have been relevant in their case.

Thanks mate. All I was trying to illustrate was that my (admittedly poor) opinion of doctors/gps is not derived from one bad experience, rather a lifetime of totally horrendous experiences. Another that springs to mind was when my mum had a miscarriage and the surgeon left a load of bandages sewn inside her. She was lucky not to get septicemia. Either my family is just extremely unlucky, or this is a shocking representation of the quality of some medical professionals. However, I would still defend the NHS to the hilt.
