Eminem Addresses Rehab in New Video

For Eminem, what doesn't kill you makes for a good song.

Such is the case with his recent stint in rehab for a dependency on sleep medication. After seeking treatment earlier this year, the Grammy-winning rapper is back with a new song and video that dramatizes his experience, MTV News reports.

The clip for his new song, "When I'm Gone," features Eminem, 33, in a large room that resembles a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. He then steps up to the podium to speak to the group, saying, "My name is Marshall." The video also illustrates other lyrics from the track, including a description of his daughter, Hailie, trying to block the door to keep Eminem from leaving to go on tour.

"When I'm Gone," which premieres on MTV Monday, is featured on the rapper's new greatest-hits collection, Curtain Call, which hits stores Dec. 6.

The rehab announcement came in August, after Eminem had completed the American leg of his "Anger Management" tour – and two days after he had called off his 10-concert European tour citing exhaustion.

At the time, a spokesman said Eminem (real name: Marshall Mathers III), was "in the hospital under doctors' care." His label, Interscope Records, issued a statement saying: "Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled."

[edit: please don't use that kind of language ... let's keep the discussion civil.

i hate when people do this. the way layne staley incorporated his addiction into his lyrics was great, but unneccesary drama about a sleeping pill addiction is totally lame.
