Eminem discussion

It's just a publicity stunt injected into a bland awards ceremony. Reminiscient of the Britney / Madonna kiss. This how MTV trys to stay edgy now.

It's an act of sexual harrassment. Whether or not you feel that Eminem is homophobic, or that he "dishes it out", the fact remains that he generally kept it to words.

And that's what it ended up being. I heard it was rehearsed & everything.

I don't like the new song, think he is a bit out-dated, but heard on the radio another one from his album and it's really good. It never occured to me MTV was a publicity stunt

I could tell it was a publicity stunt just by Em's mannerisms. I think he would have gotten a lot more angry if this guy had just landed on him out of nowhere. I mean, his entourage (I'm assuming the large gentleman next to him was Peter S. Bizzare) would have beaten the crap outta Cohen. You could tell by the look on Em's face. Funny nonetheless.

See I just couldn't get into Relapse for the longest time, but after I got it and listened to it for a few times I really started liking it!

A few of my favorite songs are:
3am
Insane
We Made You
Stay Wide Awake
Deja Vu
Beautiful
Old Times Sake

Not a big fan of Crack A Bottle at all, could be one of my least favorite songs on the whole thing.

Anyway, after really listening to the lyrics in some of his songs (namely Deja Vu and Beautiful) I could really relate to him at this point in my life and that really let me get into it i think.

I would just pretend that is just a bonus track and not part of the actual album. It's my belief that the only reason they included it was because it leaked (the original version w/o 50, and Em doing Dre's verses - there's actually a second Dre verse on the original), they finished it and it sold a billion copies on iTunes. Dre even confirmed after the leak that it was a track for Detox that was "stolen" from an email Eminem sent him.

alright, i said i didn't like the album earlier. now i think its the shit.

my main issue was how pro-drug i initially thought it was, but on closer listening it's really not pro drug at all. when he talks about getting high on the album fucked up things end up happening, or he's talking about fiend behavior.

i'm early in recovery so i'm not about to listen to music glorifying drugs.

this album is amazing.

Eminem.. people are still obsessed over this great white hype?

I'm sorry; I'm not trying to insult you or your opinions because you're entitled to them as everyone else is, but Eminem is still getting peoples attention because of WHAT HE WRITES, not because he's white. Yeah, at first it was like, Oh shiiit! A white boy rapping! But he didn't die off like so many other mediocre artists that have a gimmick that gets them noticed, because he actually has the talent. FTW!

just received this email:

"Thank you for your participation in the “VIBE Verses Presents No. 1 Stan” contest!

Congratulations on being selected as a third place winner! Your submission was hot and beat out many others to be amongst the finalists. Your work made it a very tough decision for Eminem to select the final two.

You weren’t chosen as a finalist, but because of all your hard work and creativity, we are sending you a copy of Relapse (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) signed by Eminem."
