EBM and Other alternative electronica

^^ Once again a good choice.
I haven't listened to much Haujobb lately, gonna have to pull up foobar and have me a refresher course. :)

Seeing as I'm just now trying to get up and about, we'll go with some wake up music.

Tactical Sekt - Syncope

^^ I love this song. Always gets me going.
The quality on this link could be better though, as off my hd the song is definitely clearer.
I recommend this whole album, hell any of there albums, great stuff.

An example off one of there other albums that I enjoy would be

Tactical Sekt - Genetic Mistrust

Speaking of songs sounding better gonna have to listen to it off my hd, seeing as firefox only plays through my main speakers.
Gotta hit up a foobar for my improv surround sound setup to work.
Seeing as my SS system has my bass it's a must, as these songs needs bass! :)

I guess I can bump this one up. I've been meaning to comment on this thread for a while.
Though I mainly listen to ambient nowadays, electro/industrial were my intro to electronic music in the late eighties/early nineties.

I share Ebola?s passion for Skinny Puppy, love them, the synth work is great. The mood created by SP is just so unique, nothing like it.. Front 242, I think they pretty much invented EBM, classic of course..

Two groups I didn't see mentioned here so far are Einsturzende Neubauten, which I suppose are not so much EBM as pure industrial but they are surely technological music as well. Also, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, kind of a novelty group but entertaining and great party music..

Going to VNV in New Orleans Friday with my wife for our anniversary. Looking forward to it. Thinking about catching Assemblage the following weekend.

Im diggin Panzer AG and Blutengel right now

Skinny Puppy: "vivisectvi", "too dark park", and "last rights".
Download: "Furnace" and "The Eyes of Stanley Pain"
Front Line Assembly: "Hard Wired" and particularly "Plasticity"
Coil: compiled work circa "Love's Secret Domain" and "Horse Rotorvator".
Haujobb: "Solutions for a Small Planet" and "Solid State Logic" off "Freeze Frame Reality", the latter especially.
Converter: "Blast Furnace"....just wow
Gridlock: Just love them in general, but "Further" occupies a special place.
Speedy J: "A shocking hobby" (k...'IDM' invades industrial, but whatever...)
Beefcake: most everything...k...this is breakcore invading industrial.
Xingu Hill: "Alterality"
Panacea: older work
Squaremeter: okay, industrial meets glitch.
ebola

^^ Glad to hear you enjoyed. :)

Props on the shows, I'm hoping to catch VNV and Assemblage this year as well but doubting I have the resources to do so.
Living in the middle of nowhere makes catching any shows a major effort.
I was lucky last year with catching some great shows by traveling, really hoping to do so again this year.
I hope you enjoy seeing those wonderful shows!

I'll have to post some more rec's when I get time. I'm just glad to see this thread having some good activity.

The wife and I had a blast at VNV. There were probably less than 200 people in this tiny venue in the ghetto part of New Orleans (very personable). Ronan called out my wife a couple times at the show, it was hilarious. He wanted her to go on stage with him but she didnt because she didnt want to be put on the spot not knowing some of the lyrics if the mic was put in her face.

I live in the middle of nowhere Louisiana. I have to travel 2 hours to New Orleans or 3 hours to Houston to make any good shows that come around. I have to jump on going to these shows because they dont come around often. I missed God Module last week... Im really surprised to see so many artists in the area right now. BTW, if you havent checked out Assemblages newer album Compass, its excellent.

Glad to hear you both enjoyed your show eezeekial.
I hear you on the travel times, always nice to see other fans willing to go the distance to catch a good show.

To bad on the God Mod, I enjoy there work. They have some fun songs.

BTW, if you havent checked out Assemblages newer album Compass, its excellent.

I also agree on the new Assemblage album. Compass is absolutely phenomenal.
It's actually been working as a great introduction to EBM for some of my friends.
It is very approachable even for those who are not familiar with the genre.
Some of my friends who previously didn't really give EBM a chance or disliked it, seem to enjoy Compass which I find to be a pleasant change.
What I'd really love to go check out would be Kinetik Festival in Montreal, quite a good lineup for that one.
Sadly enough due to time & more so financial constraints I haven't been able to attend as of yet.
Of course there are excellent festivals in Europe but that's not feasible at the moment.
So Kinetik Festival is one of the better options that I can strive to attend at some point. :)

My latest contribution:

And One - Military Fashion Show

Another song I'd forgotten about & not listened to for a good while.
Thanks for the reminder I enjoyed giving it another listen.
Glad to have you back your contributions are always welcome.

Now for my current listening I'm enjoying a long time favorite:

Hocico - Ecos

Ive got some Hocico, good stuff.

Just recently found out about Babyland.. anyone ever heard of them? Kinda ebm/industrial/punk/synthpop combined. Check out the album called Cavecraft by them. I couldnt find much on youtube except some live stuff by them which doesnt do this album justice. But if you want to check out their live tracks, look up Subtraction and The End Of All Summers. Take a good look at the drummers setup, pretty wild!

Indeed. I'm thinking the same thing if I had the money it'd be a no-brainer!
I'd be there in a heartbeat, hell I'd be there now. :!
For me anyways there's another festival coming up that might be do-able as it's closer & somewhat cheaper.
It's called Triton Festival it's in NYC & sponsored by Vampirefreaks seems to be a decent lineup.

Now as for smackncheese... Yes some have been mentioned but others haven't. :)

I enjoy pretty much your whole list & have most of them in my collection.
Some of them I absolutely adore but I believe I've mentioned them in prior posts so I won't re-list them.
Not familiar with Samael or Dracul though so I'll have to check them out.

Now for my current listening.
For some reason I never really gave Leaether Strip a good listen until recently even though I'd heard a decent amount about it.
I didn't know what I was missing I'm really enjoying his work!
Some random obligatory links follow. =D

Leaether Strip - Dying is Easy
Leaether Strip - Civil Disobedience
Leaether Strip - Nose Candy

Sadly the songs I'm really enjoying the most I can't find a quick link for.
Really digging Happy Pills (Gimme Gimme) & Junkie Do - Junkie Die they're really hitting home for me lately.
Anyways, check out some Leaether Strip if your not familiar it's good shit.

Just a quick edit, just noticed your Babyland comment.
I've heard the name but not much else.
I'll check em out, I believe I have some in my collection somewhere I have so much stuff I haven't gotten around to checking out.
Slowly but surely I'm getting to listening to all of it.

^^ I checked out the songs you linked.
None to shabby. Thanks for the mention.
I'm might have an album or 2 by said bands in my collection somewhere, guess I should take a look.
I'm big on listening to at least 2 or 3 songs by bands before passing any sort of judgment.
This morning/afternoon I'm in the mood for some upbeat EBM, as usual links follow.

Absurd Minds - Damn the Lie
Absurd Minds - Deception

I just realized as well you mentioned Darkwave. I haven't listened to as much as I used to as of late but one of my old faves follows.

L'Âme Immortelle - Bitterkeit (Live)
L'Âme Immortelle - Aus Den Ruinen (Live)

I'm a big fan of the nu-techno or whatever the hell its called starring bands like:

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM
SOULWAX (& 2 Many DJs)
SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO

Please list similar groups, eager to find more (moar is dumb, face it).

SMACK: Futurepop? It sounds like old cheesy techno to me!

For future pop, check my aforementioned Simian Mobile Disco. Cheese is extra.
