Reduced to 50p. Quite tasty they are too. Been craving sweet stuff like crazy recently for some reason.

making dinner, couple of sirloin steaks i'll griddle very rare and slice thinly, roast taters, leeks, carrots, chard and fine beans from allotment, and yorkshire puds and gravy.

they were nice but i feel sick now.

Was aBOUT 1200 calories in them two bags. and i'm about to start me 6th can of coke today. with rum in.

i should be a right fat cunt with amount of food (lots of good food, and a fair few shite snacks) and horrocalorific drinks i consume.

a pair of ling caught last week, eating one of them, cod/pollack family, conger type body with the massive head of a cod, flesh very much like cod, better than pollack IMO

Is it just me who finds this picture disgusting?

That those huge fish have to suffer when you can find all those omega 3 fatty acids in flax seed oil anyway?

No, the Liberal Media finds it disgusting too.

I doin't know why neither of you are disgusted when people put up a photo of a plate of fish fingers, or describe a fast food meal, or whatever. As soon as you see a whole animal/fish meat eating becomes disgusting.

It's an odd opinion. IMO. =D

^ Trying not to be rude to MM, as he's a decent poster. But I do clash with his fishing... Picture looks so wrong to me.

It's a lot more humane than commercial fishing.

edit; saying that Im probably being hypocritical as I'd find the same picture except with a land animal less ok (even though Im not a veggie).

Yep. More humane, more selective, and less damaging to the marine environment.

Yet someone could post up a picture of some industrially fished fish fingers (tonnes of bycatch put back into the sea dead, trawl nets ripping up the sea bed in the process, the fish involved having died a long slow death trapped in the net, crushed and suffocated by tonnes of other fish etc) and not get any stick whatsoever.

The fish look tasty enough though.

Its not rude, it's your opinion, it's fine....tbh a lot of people who EAT meat and fish would be and often are a bit put off if i turn up with a whole fish for them, or if I were to post pics on FB or wherever....

I kill fish to eat. I enjoy fishing, but my primary reason for fishing is cos i love eating good quality food, and it can be very hard to source very fresh fish of this sort of size.

I personally don't really get people who sit round a man-made carp lake for days, to catch a big carp, photograph it, fiddle about with it :sus: and then put it back to be caught again.

Yeah there were a few looks when my mate got a whole sea bass at a restaurant we went to. It does creep me out a bit but I guess I'd feel the same if my burgers came with a cow head attached.

Figured I should probably eat summat since I've been feeling so shit, and found a plate in the fridge that Mum left for me last night but I didn't eat. Tuna salad sandwiches in this cheesy bread stuff, pork pie, and assorted salady thing. Love her to bits sometimes <3

Well all the time but today more than usual, was exactly what I needed

I would have given her a look too.

whole plate sized bass are imported, airfreighted from Greece, cyprus or Turkey where they are intensively farmed.

it takes 10kg of wild fish (sandeels, krill etc) to bring 1 kilo of farmed fish to the plate. Huge factory ships are scooping the sandeels and krill out 24/7 to keep up with our demand for farmed bass/bream/salmon. This is not only affecting wild fish stocks, but also seabirds, puffins in particular who rely on sandeels for their main sustenance.

The minimum landing size for bass in the UK is 40cm, maybe even 42 cm now, this gives the bass a chance to spawn, and helps conserve future stocks. Far too big for one person to eat, or for a restaurant to be able to serve whole, but for some reason people like to have a whole bass on their plate...

I don't eat farmed fish.
