Thought I'd give this food thing a go... here's one I prepared earlier.

:) it was my first attempt at that dish, I didn't have all the ingredients I wanted really. Next time I will throw in some beansprouts, chopped chilli, corriander and serve with a wedge of lime. I've been cooking more asian dishes since visiting an asian supermarket, those places piss all over the usual suspects.
 
I'm not a steak eater

Nor me really. Had a jar of chimchirri sauce sat in the cupboard since I got is as an xmas pressie and saw cheap steak so acquired. Sauce was great <3

Mash was also pretty bloody good. Actual potatoes rather than Smashed potatoes ferra change. Used the juices and peppery olive oil instead of butter and chucked in a bit of nice mature cheddar.

Steak turned out really very pink. Not bleeding pink but far more pink than I would've planned. Happy accident cos was bloody tasty all round.
 
Today I ate:

Fry up
A blueberry friand
Some kind of apricot and cocoa energy ball thing
A plate of cheese (Sleightlet, Montgomery's and some American cheese from wisconsin that I can't remember the name of) and some St John's sourdough
A nice piece of onglet
Lancashire hotpot with some purple sprouting broccoli
A spiced iced bun
Two bags of chocolate popcorn

Sounds really tasty - I think with steak there a bit better slightly under cooked than overcooked - you can always fry it again for a minute or so extra. I forgot to mention that you should take it out of the fridge for about 15mins prior to cooking.
 
You didn't forget to mention it actually. And it so happened that I had done. Dunno how much difference it made but was definitely a success compared to the last time I tried to cook a steak. Mash was made with tatties with the skin left on. Can't be arsed peeling spuds when the skins add so much more flavour. Any nutritional value is but a bonus.

About to have brekky. Not got much in so will be Jordan's Country Crisp (is on offer at the moment). The nutty one.
 
I love the Asian supermarkets - some of the stuff just baffles me though. If your cooking with coconut milk for the laskas and you like sweet curries try mixing Mango Chutney with coconut milk. Gives a really unusual sweetish base to a curry.

Im having coffee and toast and already thinking about cooking a curry :D.

Morning Mate - coffee and toast for me. Enjoy your day, I'm getting ready to travel so got to get some money sorted out, collect my laundry, find all the chargers that I'll need etc.
 
I excelled today with my tea - Made a spicy pumpkin soup, aubergine and chicken bake and garlic baked smashed potatoes.

It wasn't the most photogenic meal I've made but tasted really nice :)
