Crispy pork with Thai basil and chilli with rice.

Was more chewy and fatty than crispy but that melt in your mouth sort of fat at least rather than just being stringy and horrible.

Pretty decent actually.

Have you been to a tesco lotus, bought ingredients and cooked yet? I loved a trip to tesco when in Thailand, it had tanks of live fish and the strangest of veg!

You can cook, hopefully you have a cooker in your gaff.

Most BKK apartments don't have kitchens and I'll be fucked if I'm buying a daft wee stove to cook on when Thai food is so cheap and tasty and available on every street corner 24/7. Would end up costing me more to cook I guarantee. No point.

I have been to Tesco Lotus many times though there's one just done the road, I was there earlier buying beer.

I've never seen live tanks of fish even in the Tesco Lotus superstore which is one of the biggest in BKK and probably Thailand.

Where did you see that?

What were you doing here?

You should have asked for permission before coming to my home. ;)

I love Tescos / Lotus :D - walking around the fruit n veg section is like day trip. Big C is another one of the big stores - stocked up on the usual stuff last time I was in Phuket.

On the Thai note - Chicken and Squash curry.

Ah so you just have a room - pretty shite considering you're a good cook. I visited the big tesco in pucket. It was amazing :D I love visiting overseas supermarkets =D

You and me would make perfect shopping companions - imagine, a trolley each and off we go exploring the durian fruit isle =D I love food shopping abroad, you should see the shite I buy and bring back to the uk!

I have an apartment but apartments don't come with kitchen out here for the most part. And a kitchen out here usually means a sink in the corner. Very rare for people to have proper ovens and hobs and shit.

A shitty camping stove and a microwave is usually considered to be a kitchen. I could rent those from my apartment building but I'd rather just eat out every day.

I did buy a pineapple for the equivalent of 6p on koh phangan in tesco lotus. They'd priced them wrong.

:D - Did you try the Durian? Really strange experience, everything about it should say your going to hate it but (the smell, the initial taste) but after you get over that its alright. I bought a load of stuff the last time - pre made curry pastes, chili powder, dried mushrooms, dried seaweed :D.

(Nice to see you online again <3)

Well you learn something new every day - I love to know about peoples' domestic situation. Imagine not having a cooker, and all the cooking gadgets we have here. Though I know how fantastically tasty the food is over there. Must be great getting it brought ready made in to you or eating out cheaply.

Doubt it. I priced chedder cheese and it wasn't far off gold prices.

Hello you too :). Off course I tried the durian, I'm used to putting nasty things in my mouth! It tasted amazing - its a bit like falling in love with weird kinda sushi things in japan, all that dead marine stuff isn't that appealing at first, but surprisingly interesting on the palate thereafter . My philosophy is shut my eyes and take every sensation thereafter as its the first exploration in life 8(

God I'd totally love to go shopping with you for seasoning n' spices n' the unique ;) I totally love foody shopping <3

^Strangest thing I ate the last time - Godzilla Sushi. Smoked eel, mayo, in a nori roll - battered and then deep fried. I bought so much stuff the last time :D - stocked myself up for about a year :D

It's my Thai food :D - If I could be bothered I would love to do a few smaller dishes (I can make a killer Papaya Salad), would like to do that, chicken n basil, Masamam, maybe a few Satays.

Som Tam is my favourite. I was convinced for ages I didn't like it for some reason then got into it recently and it's so good.

Chicken and fried basil with chilli (pad ka pow gai) is epic. I crave it when I've not had for a while. Think I'll eat it later.

In Bangkok most people don't cook and will just grab something off the street or eat at local restaurant. It's so cheap and tasty and with lack of kitchen at home it makes sense.

Can't beat it.

There's 2 restaurants in my complex and they deliver to your apartment for no extra cost up until 2am and street food outside goes on till around midnight. 7/11s on every corner and a few 24hr restaurants in walking distance.

Cheese is expensive out here. I don't buy it much or just some cheese slices if fancy a cheese and ham sandwich. Wine is a rip off too and I'd murder a bottle of red. Not had one since I came here and I drink wine 2-3 times a week back home.

Papaya salad with deep fried chicken and rice. Epic.

Place that sells it is my new favourite restaurant. Everything tasty, spicy and cheap.

It's a sad cynical day when the pizza guy at the takeaway place wraps up your order and hands it to you and says, 'Enjoy! it's a special one that', and your whole being automatically deflates because you instantly assume that he means someone's jizzed in it :(

Until NB reminded me I got free mushrooms on a basic margarita (sp?) pizza.

Bad Marmz :|

Just munched my way through 30 mg 3-MeO-PCP and 5ml GBL :D

That's a proper Sunday dinner. I didn't just eat the body of Christ, I think I might have bummed him.

%)

Oh fuck I bought a load of hash browns yesterday! Time to gorge myself.
