I'd venture Marely would have respected PIL for their use of Dub beats in a completely new setting.

Sorry mate but i hate it when folk say things like this . It's just not credible unless you knew the person how would you have any idea on what they would respect or what music they would like .

I don't know why this has turned into a debate about whether you are allowed to like reggae or not. That is utterly beside the point. That t-shirt is fucking awful. Nothing to do with reggae or rastas or Bob Marley's haircut.

The Bowie one equally so. Just a cut and paste of a fuckton of Bowie logos. M&S fodder.

If you're gonna buy band merch, at least buy officially released stuff, not cause it's 'official' but because 9 times out of 10 it's loads more decent than the repros.

That or make yer fucking own.

who the fuck care cares whats on your tshirt, it's a functional piece of clothing made by some kids in india.

but but but it reflects the inner me! ;p

It's all about relativity see. I regularly accost people if I see em in a Cardiacs t-shirt.

(I don't give a fuck about brand names or owt tho, but I do wear band t-shirts, and occasionally comic book related ones)

I did make the Marley one actually ;)

I kind of liked the piss take on Babylon being run by the 99%.

I also have this one...

Now I'm worried if a white kid from Levin is allowed to have the Master Blaster on a t shirt ?:(

Probably no different than a 1000 odd chavs running around with Tevez on the back of their shoulders

link me

does he deal drugs at uni? On my first week i was refused entry into a club because i was 'a known drug dealer'. Apparently there is a 3rd year i share resemblance to who partakes

I got that at college all the time for some reason. I looked about twelve, so fuck knows who was peddling drugs round there

mm maybe i just look like a dealer? always the first to be asked in clubs. you should see me in my bucket hat in festivals, definite part time ket dealer vibe

I'm more insulted that NIN were used as an example of musical genius. Over produce pile of shite on so many levels.

can you read, your grammar is appalling ?? you're embellishing my statements, thanks and all that but it's really not required.

I said NIN made some good music, I'm not the one holding one artist up against another, art and music are a very personal thing. I think you will find I have stated that I have respect for all forms of music.

The original statement was about influence and impact, discussing who is better is no more than a pissing contest.

You totally dismissed both the Pistols and PIL and and indeed Punk as influential to modern music. I've made a number of supporting points which you have failed to respond to in anything other than a lounge type manner.

I referred PILs Metal box album as have been very influential on a number of other well known bands and that it was ground breaking on many ways that are difficult to truly appreciate now as music moves on a pace.

I have referenced numerous very successful and well known bands that have sighted the Pistols and PIL as a major influence from U2 to Motorhead.

I also note that despite judging the music to be of little value, by your lack of response you obviously haven't listened to the album.

To be clear I have my own personal tastes I'm no muso, I like to explore interesting music that crosses my path. I tend not to enjoy modern main steam pop to any extent but some of it is OK.

I have liked Neil Diamond for many years, he has a fantastic voice with real depth and feeling

Apart from my ill conceived views on T-shirts (thanks Dan) and my liking for the more extreme end of industrial music I'd consider most of my tastes as varied and diverse, as I said I have respect for all musicians and styles, Brimz has even had me listening to Hip Hop:)

I have a feeling that you are not from the UK, the music scene has not followed the same paths as the US, I know little about elsewhere, Punk did not manifest itself in the same way there, although the likes of Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls were a massive influence.

vive la difference...and a little humility would go a miss either

Haha, gimme a min I can do this and totally didn't just accidentally close all my tabs
