EADD Music Production Thread: Side B

Melodies are quite random imo, sometimes you get a good one first try and sometimes you can be up all night and get nothing.

Learn a bit of music theory and some piano it will help you understand what notes can go with what, like boards of canada said "MUSIC IS MATH"
 
it really is math, if you find yer melodies aren't going anywhere, write one in 5/4, instant new dimension :)
 
Just don't tell anyone what it is on here, or else some cunt will thumb down all your videos :p
 
Just stick with it mate, took me a long time to actually make something I was pleased enough with to upload.

I know an awful lot about production, technically. I just have difficulty with concentration, workflow, and actually physically bashing my ideas down.

Just uploaded my most recent set from a few weeks back -This was performed through Ableton Live and used the APC40 controller with my soundcard routing direct into the clubs mixer.

do you think live is alright for recording normal intruments like guitars, vocals and drums and stuff? or do you think its mostly gear towards people making loop based electronic music?
 
Yeah, I think it's great for it :D
But the computer in the studio doesn't have Live, so if we're recording anything other than vocals or guitar we have to use Cubase.
