Watched some of gravity earlier, gonna crack on with the rest. and Captain philips

I watched Gravity at the weekend. I don't know why I'm posting about it in this thread though because it was fucking awful. Not recommended.

Ditto. Cuaron is capable of so much more. Visually pretty, but the retarded story with such blatant attempts at emotional manipulation was utter crap. "oh, she is gonna die...wait, she is gonna make it! oh, she is gonna die, wait she is gonna make it!, ad infinitum" . I don't think plausibility is necessary for a film, but for one relying on such it sure was one inplausibilty after another....Bollock is always Bollocks anyway.

Really?? didnt think it was that bad tbh. lot better than some shit ive seen. the dialogue is genius compared with Gravity

It's really not.

"Oh no, you really don't want to go down there"
"I really don't want to go down there??? Oh why ever not, is it because the thing I am looking for is down there?"
"No, no, it's definitely not down there. It's... away at the opposite end of the ship. Honestly"

And such like. It was farcical. It was like a fucking pantomime.

The Somalian boy was a good actor right enough, but I can't get over how shockingly terrible the dialogue was.

Gravity really was one for the cinema in 3d. First 3d film I have thought was better in that format
I thought Captain Philips was average. No way deserving a oscar nomination for best film

Watched Conviction with Hilary Swank recorded off film4 last night. Very good filum.

She has a brother who's a bit wild and crazy with more than a bit of a temper problem but is seemingly a good guy deep down, they were on a night out and he got into a fight with some guy and threatetened him with a broken beer bottle to his face. His family and friends were mortified and upset, but he didnt give a shit he won them back when the band started playing "My Sharrona" he said "Now this's a party!" and started strutting his stuff and took his shirt off, got on the stage and stripped completely naked. It was fucking hilarious. The rest of the film was not so funny, a bit of a tear jerker as with the other Hillary Swank film ive seen; Million Dollar Baby, i guess she has that kind of face to keep playing struggling & plucky heroines. Thats just one early scene of the film, i cant say any more without giving too much away and spoiling it.

I liked captain phillips but didnt think of it as that great. But i have this problem with greengrass movies for some reason, maybe he just doesnt resonate with me.

Saw escape plan, with stallone and Schwarzenegger... ☺ had a laugh as i didnt think they made these kind of movies anymore. Truly for the nostalgic... Like a spoof but taking itself seriously. And 50cent as an actor? Wtf?

Fair one

Youve seen true detective aint ya? Rust dialogue... genius

Don't watch need for speed if your thinking about watching it, waste of 10 quid and a couple of hours of my precious time! Race scenes were alright but the rest of the film was incredibly poor.

But the girl who ends up with aaron paul is hot so there's that

Finally got around to watching The Desolation of Smaug (The Hobbit).

Really enjoyed it :) - one of the better movies I've watched in a while.

Wicked film that :)

It's great isn't it :) Probably my favorite out of the series. We were about half way and I started to get a bit bored, then I was glued to the seat and the credits started rolling and I was like WTF :D.

Yeah it has some shitty CGI but overall a great eye candy movie:). Its out on Blueray which would be amazing to watch but I have limited bandwidth so had to take the 1080 version :D

Yeah really good, alot better than the hobbit

Not a massive fan of ed sheeran but this tune at the end was perfect, beautiful

Love that guitar, theres some amazing covers on youtube as well

Usually my pirated films are about 2-3 gigs, but I wanted to try a proper bluray rip and it was something like 24 gigs, bloody huge. I went with Saving Private Ryan cos you can't really go wrong with that film. Have to wait a few weeks to find out what it looks like on a nice screen though. Current film collection is 1tb but recently got another hdd so will be filling that up shortly.
