You've probably all seen This Is England. That film is so good, Stephen Graham as the scouser NF loon is fucking awesome, about one of the most intense portayals of such a character ive ever seen. Set in the aftermath of the falklands war in 80s England those were rough times. The soundtrack is fucking awesome too. Full of great reggae, ska, punk, acoustic and classical music. An 11/12 year old lad has to deal with an immensly difficult amount of shit thrown his way.

Great film

Out of the Furnace is a great movie. Woody H is excellent playing a bad guy redneck and the Bale and others r all on top form. Check it out.
Also, an older film called Frailty is one of my favs :)

Saw End Of Watch last night and thought it was very good. It follows two LAPD cops who patrol a very dodgy area and frequently get thrown into action. Sinister undertones give off a feeling something bad is going to happen throughout the film.

Just saw Kid Cannabis. Nice movie.

I watched that the other night - good movie :)

Watched a few recently that I could recommend

Joe
Labor Day
The Railway man
The Enemy - really strange movie (worth watching)
Blue Ruin
The Physician - I enjoyed this, slow movie though
Might have said these before
Her / After the dark
The Machine is another nice movie (Same movie as Splice just updated and with CGI)
Captain America 2 :D (men in latex - why wouldn't I ?)

Savaged - stupid gore fest (funny but shit movie)
Devils Due - shit movie (worst I've seen in a good while [worse than 'After Earth])

One of the best movies I've seen in a while, and has quickly become of my favourites ever, is Le Intouchables. So damned good! Very funny, cool soundtrack, great acting. Highly recommend.

This ? or something else. Could you maybe post a link ?

That's the one! Enjoy.

A little taste:

I would have thought more people would be posting here...

I just watched Fast & Furious 6

The franchise has come a long way since the original instalments & I think that's the only reason it has survived so long. An entertaining film to be sure with some pretty neat action sequences, although perhaps not as much racing as in earlier films.

In terms of that genre, I'd give it 8/10.

R.I.P Paul Walker.

The Two Faces of January

Not a bad film. Adapted from a book & I think it loses some of the nuances because of this but still a great watch. 8/10

All Is Lost

Easily the best film I've seen this year & it will quite probably remain that way; the best thing I've seen since, well... Gravity! So not that long. Robert Redford was perfectly cast for this role & despite almost no dialogue, it's a gripping film. 10/10

Watched 'Frank' the other day - it's a great film, but not showing many places. Has a cracking song at the end too.

Then again, I'm a bit biased towards anything Jon Ronson related.

'Calvary''s not bad either, out of the films out ATM, but it's a toss up between 'Frank' and 'Inside Llewyn Davis' for my film of the year so far.

Almost forgot - Under the Skin is belting too, really mindwarpingly disturbing (plus Scarlet Johansson is hotter than ever in it :)).

Come to think of it, second half of 2013 through to now has been the best period in cinema I can remember.
