I'm going to watch Prometheus as soon as i can justify not cleaning this house and putting decs up.

This bit in Wiki about Prometheus punishment for bringing fire cracks me up. Dunno why. An organ that was eaten every day and grew back later hmmm?

Prometheus, in eternal punishment, is chained to a rock in the Caucasus, Kazbek Mountain, where his liver is eaten daily by an eagle,[8] only to be regenerated by night, due to his immortality.[9] The liver is also a regenerative organ. The eagle is a symbol of Zeus Himself. Years later, the Greek hero Heracles (Hercules) slays the eagle and frees Prometheus from his chains.[10]

Watched Elysium earlier inna bit ovva haze. I remember it looked very convincing. Also watched Kick Ass 2 which raised a series of smirks 'n' the like. I also watched The Tower which had some of the most intriguing subtitles ever :?

Will probably watch the first of those again when in a state to be able to take in the plot a bit better.

cool. Obtained. First impressions are positive. Gonna "prepare myself" and get settled in :D Been a few months since I watched a decent scifi flick. Quite bloody excited.

Yeah. Wanna watch it properly cos it looked like it's been done right on this occasion. Very William Gibsonesque so it is. Only takes a second to reset the Earth's Sudo account p/w. And a skinny Sarfie wivva beard and an exoskeleton apparently.

Only god forgives - very strange. Don't know if it knows what it's trying to be that film. I don't you will be bored watching it but I was disappointed. And I love his films, especially the Pusher trilogy, and Bronson, Drive.

Just watched Taken for the 2nd time, wasnt expecting much for a 2nd viewing, but recently there have been so many great films that can easily take a 2nd viewing and are still just as great.

spoilers

NSFW:
I fuckin loved the wild intessnity of the car chase into oncoming traffic and all the shooting off all those fucking scumbags. Never really struck home with me before how these prostitute traffickers get their girls addicted to smack so they are completely trapped by this. I loved the way every scumbag was ruthlesslessly violently dispatched. One man takes on about 50 total scum and they all get what they deserve. This is a fuckin brilliant ruthless violent realistic feeling action film, up there with Man On Fire.

Probally been mentioned, anyone seen Mr Nice?

Watched it last night, suprised not heard of it before.

Best film I've seen in a long time! Matewan

matewan.jpg

Matewan is a 1987 American drama film written and directed by John Sayles, and starring Chris Cooper, James Earl Jones, Mary McDonnell, and Will Oldham, with David Strathairn, Kevin Tighe, and Gordon Clapp in supporting roles.[2]
The film dramatizes the events of the Battle of Matewan, a coal miners' strike in 1920 in Matewan, a small town in the hills of West Virginia.

Amazed that the Americans produced a film like this, but they did! Well done Americans.

It's a sort of western, with goodies and baddies. Cunts, and ordinary decent folk.

OK it's a bit political. That's why I'm so surprised. I didn't think it was possible. But it was! So well done America.

It's also just a really good film, not perfect but really good, and the first one to make me cry a little bit for ages. Only a little bit though, it's not depressing, it's encouraging, but also revealing and poignant. Watch it.

I think i will try out a Knock film recommendum. They seem to be quite rare occurences so i am encouraged. Not sure what to make of your luke warm reception of Animal Kingdom though. :? I watched it for the 2nd time recently and admittedly it doesnt have the same wow factor on 2nd viewing but first time round i found it one of the most powerfully moving films i have ever seen.
