Uncle Robert gravity A mate said it was absolutely brilliant said:
I cant stress enough how good this film GRAVITY is.
it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as
Astranauts doing routine maintanance on a spacewalk when disaster hits and they are sent spinning uncontrollably in space.
it is a genre defining film according to the guardian.
the film is visually jaw dropping in 3D apparently the best use of the 3D IMAX format yet.i agree and i have seen a good few 3D films since avatar this one is the best
Its available in 2D aswell but i think it would lose a bit of the impact.
James cameron said it is the best space film ever made topping even kubricks space odyssey 2001.

people liking gravity makes me think there is still hope for moviegoers... ive had enough bad scifi shit movies. fuck battleship and transformers making millions, while only a few went to see moon.

He would tho, because he's a complete egotistical cock.

The flick is probably alright tho, haven't seen it.
LoL not a james cameron fan i see. he is not involved with the film btw.
I didnt have great expectations before seeing this film tbh just expected it to be average but its far from that. Anyone i talked to thought it was very impressive. See for yourself.

bah, each to their own. ;) You sounded as if yiou were kind of reluctantly begrudgingly going to watch it ealier on, or am i imagining that ? :\ Didnt Pope scare the shit out you ? Some people loved it, some hated it, you thought it 'wasnt bad'. I think the the consensus was that it was very good though. Maybe i enjoyed it more than most, but it really hit the spot for me. Oh i was on odt at the time, maybe that had something to do with it. :\

"Im all out of Love, I cant live without you....." as that cuts to seome eerie creepy music and the camera pans round to show Pope studying the pretty girl asleep on the couch. We can only wonder what is going through his mind at that stage, but we know its not good.

Metascore 83.
Based on 33 critic reviews provided by Metacritic.com

i dont think its just me, or the odt, though for personal reasons and cos i was high on odt the film is one of my favourites. IIRC i was thoroughly heartbroken and stunned by the end of the fim.

Still, you're glad you watched it right ? Not thinking, 'that fuckin mdb cost me 2 hours of my life there watching that grim crap' lol ?

haha, yeah it's a good film, it wasn't time wasted :D Pope didn't scare me, no, I mean he was a nasty piece of work but I suppose I've been desensitised by Gaspar Noé's stuff.

I saw Johnny knoxvilles latest Bad Grandpa last night and it was fucking hilarious. Think a cross between borat and jackass, except with prosthetic genitalia and a 7 yr old fat kid drinking beer and trying to get into strip clubs.

Not sure this has been mentioned, randomly found it on Netflix..

If you haven't seen it give it a shot, very dark film

The Horseman - 2008

'A tender drama unfolds between a grieving father and a troubled teenage girl as they drive northbound along the quiet outback roads of Australia. What she doesn't know is that between stops, he is leaving behind a bloody trail of bodies in a revenge motivated killing spree.'

Looks quite low budget but had me glued to the screen, really gritty!

A film along the lines of dead mans shoes and Manhunt (the game)

Give it a watch!

Being an Ozzie yourself what did you think of Animal Kingdom OTW ? Ive visited a couple of times and there seems to be quite a few 'outlaw' looking types around. Mind you I spose i could say the same thing about Manchester, UK.

Heard good things about that, will check it out

Just watched "Bronson." Dont know wtf to make of it. I wouldnt call it enternmaint. The guy had no redeeming feautures at all, absolutely nothing to like or admire about the guy. Unless physical violence is your thing, and needing at least 6 officers to constrain him, seeing as he'd take the first 3 out within a blink of the eye. At least when Bruce Lee or some 'hero' does violence it is for a worthy cause. Not just they are fuckin animals.

War Horse this morning, missed the start of it, enjoyed it though. good film

Completely mad wasnt he. I think its true that he never killed anyone, though its a miracle that he didnt mansalughter someone in his violent oubreaks.

The only secen i partially enjoyed was when they palyed Pet Shop Boys - It's A Sin

Couldnt get more appropriate thatn that. Never notived before how dramatic that tune is ether.

Prisoners is great dark movie and really worth watching - I also enjoyed The new Thor movie. I also watched Elisium the other day - was OK, felt like I had seen it all before, but the CGI was great (as expected these days).

Im looking forward to Elysium - watched District 9 last night for the first time since it came out still a good film but didnt have quite the impact second time round.

I finnally go round to seeing Beasts Of The Southern Wild this week - acclaimed indie flick about a load of scrubbers in the deep south coping in the aftermath of a flood. Cant say I loved it as much as the critics seem to but its worth a look - the central relationship between the little girl and her dad was quite touching. just a little too much raw meat and shellfish for my liking.

Watching "Amour" aorn. Overrated imo. I liked "The Piano Teacher" and "Cache," but Amour is ghey.
