Watched repo men with Jude Law on film4 last night. Not usually keen on Sci-Fi, or Jude Law, but i was impressed and enjoyed it, however predictable it was.

Anyone seen "Drive"? quite arty and slow-mo kinda, bit 80s ish

yeh man.. big man crush on Ryan Gosling (no homo). Its a great film regardless however, love the pace and the soundtrack at the end. I like the vibes during the film and the soundtrack kinda of epitomises them.

Well Spring Breakers was fucking great! At least it was great on AL-LAD. (which is very good shit indeed!) (making me happy i've stocked up! i wonder what shambles thinks?)
(back to movies)
yes it was incredible really, but the timing may have something to do with that, it started off with me paying not much attention to it while it played in the background and became more and more colourful and harmonious...

I had thoughts that the writer must be a genius to have written this just for me. Born in the early 70s at the climax of the sexual revolution, hedonism was in the air and perhaps the very water. I was tempted to interpret the opening scenes of the film in a very post-modern self-aware way; I wondered if the auteur had imagined the film would be repeatedly rewound, by me, in a GBL-induced stupor. It's possible to do so; I did, and it made me laugh, but the film is not just a lush visual backdrop and it doesn't see itself as such. It is beautiful, but it has points to make, and they are made fairly explicitly, without much room for interpretation. So I carried on watching, in glee and in horror. The film comprises equal amounts of both. This is society. Isn't it sick? Look how it works? See how easily it all sneaks you by? No this isn't a subtle film. And in the end I didn't much enjoy it. Although that's a lie, I laughed all the way through it :)

Fuck yes! Really glad someone else has watched this; especially glad it's you knock.

I loved it too, it really didn't disappoint after waiting so long to watch it.

Visually awesome, and I'm thoroughly jealous I didn't watch it while tripping. The colour/look of the movie alone makes it perfect to trip with. It looked or felt like nothing korine has ever done before too, which also impressed me, because it had a highly stylised and really glossy production, almost like a rap video, which obviously fits given the storyline.

I laughed tons without being under the influence, so I can imagine I'd too be peeing my pants if I was in your shoes. I think I see this as the slightly more sophisticated cousin of God Bless America, similar message intent, but a little deeper and from a slightly different angle

I don't think everyone will love it, but i really hope more of the right people who'd appreciate it make an effort to watch it, because it really was sophisticated goodness.

And just how good was James Franco? He's always been a great actor and was deffo born for the role ... .... look at all my stuff man! (hawt gun sucking fellatio scene too :o)

Britney Spears - Everytime ... sooo well utilised.

I need to watch it again without the slightly difficult to ignore lysergamide consciousness infecting my thoughts! But I know I will be entertained, that's for sure.

Watched Trollhunter (I purchased a 10.5GB file, took forever for the postman to deliver it but the quality was exceptional).

Lord of the Rings meets Blair Witch in Norway. Was good fun, but probably targeted at 14 year olds.

Just watched Spring Breakers. Much better than I expected. Whoever said the description doesn't do it justice (Marmalade?) was right. Almost immediately it wasn't what I was expecting, then just when I thought I had it sussed (I'd forgot about the description at this point) Gucci Mane and crackhead Kenny Powers rock up. Great film, I definitely recommend it.

Can anyone recommend some surreal American fantasy comedy movies? (Think 'Being Johnathon malkovich').

Just watched Ruby sparks (2012) 'A novelist struggling with writer's block finds romance in a most unusual way: by creating a female character he thinks will love him, then willing her into existence'.

And 'Oh God (1977)' 'When God appears to an assistant grocery manager as a good natured old man, the Almighty selects him as his messenger for the modern world'.

And Rapture palooza (2013) 'Two teens battle their way through a religious apocalypse on a mission to defeat the Antichrist'.

They all be watchable filmovies, but not up to the mustard as the 'Bein Jon Malk' or 'Stranger than fiction' types.

Mucho thanks compatriots. <3

FINALLY getting to see SpringBreakers ... been waiting for fucking EVER. Had loads of false starts before, due to shit standard copies, which I never ever watch.

Don't let the title put you off. I have zero interest in this kinda flick normally, but it's Harmony Korine flick and it's going to do good things, and not likely to be some standard genre shite. S'been recommended to me by lots of people with great taste.

Really hope it's as good as I've been told it is.

5.7 on imdb, but Gummo only gets 6 or something so that's nowt to go by.
I've been thinking of watching that for a while now. I got to the intro and thought "oh nooononono no!" but I wasn't really in the mood, so I'll check it out properly if my lack of sleep is similar to last night. And, even though I've not seen Gummo, I know that I should be ashamed to not know much about it so that's another one to check out %)

Ryan Gosling is a sterling actor.
Loads of people slated Drive for not having enough driving in ( haha =D ) but I thought it was brilliant. I'd just watched Valhalla Rising so was on a bit of a Refn-a-thon.
Some also slated Gosling for being a really one-toned actor, but the way how he keeps his cool throughout most of the film and then there's that scene in the lift (those who've seen it will know Terry-Waagwaan ;) ).... It was like all that the character had been through in the story just exploded out of him in those 10-20 seconds.
Fantastic :)

Just about to watch the 2009 movie 'Moon'.

Moon
I really liked that :) Bit slow off the start and - yes - it could be considered a little silly or something, but yeah I enjoyed it :)

Started watching "9" a lil' earlier (and I plan to pick up where I left off) and, even though I'd seen barely 20 minutes of it, it really grabbed me. Definitely my sort of film - Brilliant animation too.

--- Edit ---

Fucking hell! Gummo! Same bloke who made Trash Humpers! I need to watch that again actually - Weird and wonderful flick!
