You won't be disappointed .
I'm sure that other BLers who have watched this movie will agree it's a classic.

Yeah Jacob's Ladder is indeed a classic, one of the first films I watched during my film education phase. So I've not seen it for about 20 years and is probably due a rescreening!

20 years. When I was 20 that seemed like a lifetime (and I suppose it was!) but it only feels like a short time ago now. Even events which took place before my birth are starting to feel recent. Weird sensation!

They showed it in schools?? I watched it at home and it gave me nightmares, the frazzled baby at the end is horrific!

yeah threads is great. should be mandatory viewing for everyone.

watching Hard Boiled today for some motivational attitude etc.

Jeeeebus yes! Thankyou for the reminder Brimzy - I've got post-it-notes all over my room with reminders of films to watch and Jacob's Ladder is practically on each one!
I'll have a lurk for it tonight when I, undoubtedly, won't be able to sleep. It's been well over a decade since I saw it last and I'm a young un as they go too!
Cheers again Brimz :)

I remember watching this in PSRE class when we were abooouuuut.... 15 or something?
Infact our teacher played another film where a husband of a different religious sect was hacked to death with machetes and warned us before playing it that some may want to leave the room before he put it on, and two people ended up running out of the class and threw up!
I was fucking speechless too... I mean yea, we must know that the world is a cruel and savage place to have grown up in in certain periods (infact when are we not living through such atrocities :?), but you'd assume they'd at the very least try to shield us from watching someone hacked to death on a fuzzy telly in school at such an age 8(

sounds like a lot of people saw that happening the other week in london :/

I remember threads being pretty shocking when I saw it at school but itwas good I think to be exposed to some realities at that age.

Is that from the book that inspired John Henry&Co at Fenway Sports Group? Like the idea of compulsively looking at stats for players.

Yeah I definitely agree - As the future continues... to.... continue... we're all going to be younger and younger while subjected to such acts of violence et. al. as it's purely the way of which this world functions with other media (games / TV / every other medium that the Daily Mail would pick up on them causing cancer).

Reet, speaking of dead things, I'm going to have some dead animal balls (mince, not actual bollocks, but horses balls for starter courses) with Bolognese and Penne!

I bid you all a good evening and I apologise for derailing the thread <3~:\

The main one about trend following is called " Trend Following" by Micheal Covel , that one is the Fenway book/bible
http://www.amazon.com/Trend-Following-Updated-Millions-Markets/dp/013702018X

The moneyball book is by Micheal Lewis and is very similar in its themes
basically about how the oakland A's managed to be a good team despite being the smallest market baseball team in america.

fanaastic book

I didnt think the movie could be as good as the book but it ALMOST is
