A fantastic Mexican film about the violent and terrifying gangs in the ghetoes of Mexico. Boy meets girl and they try to flee. Very engrossing film with a great feel of realism about the whole thing. One of the gang leaders with tatoos all over his boat race is scary as fuck. Id love to see him walking round Moss Side, he'd soon bring the over cocky scallies down several pegs.
Gritty is the word,if you liked The Wire you'll like this, only the story moves 42 times faster. I wonder if The Wire could have been made into a 2 hour movie, all the characters and their back stories and sub plots totally justified its pace and length, but it would have been an all time great as a movie too.....Id like to see Omar from The Wire around here too. Man things would change.

I've been wanting to watch Se7en recently but I get freaked out kinda easily. How disturbing is it? Worth the watch?

I don't mind gore - it's more twisted sadism-type stuff that gets to me. Clockwork Orange-y things.

I didn't think much of Dark Skies. Just didn't grab me.
A reminder that if you haven't seen Elephant then you should. Doesn't seem to go down well with everyone but you'll know in the first ten minutes if it's for you and if it is then you'll really like it.
Thought Surrogates was pretty good. Kept me entertained anyway! Fast paced scifi with some actual thought.
I've got quite a few interesting films in my queue but Dexter has taken over my life for the moment!
