EADD Motorbike/Scooter Discussion

Seems reasonable. Time to dip into some savings I think. I really hope I get this debt collecting job lol

you could probably keep the price down by using someone else's bike for the CBT. although then you have the logistical problem of getting the bike there before you've passed your CBT, of course. ;)

If its a guarenteed pass I guess I could just buy a bike first lol.

Thanks for the information in the other post by the way :)

i don't need a motorised commode to do that.

and it's not mine, it's yours! :p

me and our cletus are going on a wee bike trip this weekend. there are four of us going down to loch lomond to stay in a hotel and get pissed all weekend. at some point we're maybe gonna visit a hydroelectric dam where you take a lift 1km down into the ground to see all the workings. should be interesting. :)

PASSED MY CBT TODAY! :D

will be buying a lovely new 125 on monday!! :D :D

dunno the make or model, but i've seen the bike in the shop. it's a cheap one lol, £875 new! lol

I was mad nervous/anxious before it today i felt like walking out n going home, since i failed it once already, but managed it in the end, luckily my valium plan worked flawlessly instead of leading to death. lucky. ;p

ill stick a photo up on monday :)

Haven't read the thread but think I'll invest in a 125 next year and get rid of the car unless I find a decent job of course.

Now I passed my Car Test in 1990-something does that mean I can drive for a year without taking any Bike test?

I have no clue about Bikes but would like something cheap that holds the road well and has big chunky tires like a scrambler or someit. It will only be for local journeys and maybe a bit off off road fun.

Answers on a post card from those that have a clue. Thanks

Scew a 125 then and do a direct access programme. Buy yourself a secondhand Dominator for maybe 500/1000 pounds.

I know a man who rode one everywhere and even claimed to have successfully run over a sheep without coming off it!

At the moment, you must pass your CBT at a recognised training school before you can take to the road on a 125. Then you can take lessons on a bigger bike, but during this time & before you sit the final riding test, you must complete the theory test. A piece of piss if have actually read the book that goes along with it! You also have to sit a hazard perception test on a computer at the centre. You may have already done one of these in the past, but this is what most people fail at because it is linked to the theory test. I would recommend one of the DVD's you can buy & try it first. Check ebay for a cheapo that is DVLA recognised. It gives a better understanding of what it is looking for, instead of the clickfest that a lot of people go for. Making a right cunt of it in the process =D

good choice! %) a mate of ours had a Honda Varadero XL125 which would be perfect.

Caught by the blues and twos (I swear it wasn't me!) meaning this baby has been sitting on my dads front drive for well over a year doing....Absolutely nothing. Now that I've got my own place I don't know if I could even afford to run it.
Although I guess I could go without eating every now and then.......

EDIT: hmm image tags weren't working, good thing everyone jumped to tell me and spared my blushes.

^ nice one. i bought one of those as my first helmet.

the internal sunshade kicks ass, all helmets should have them as standard.

i've got an Arai Astro-R with the Saltire design now. %)

so have you figured out which bike you're getting yet? where's these pics you promised us? :)
