they basically said to forget the backdated amount. apparently no-one ever gets it for the reasons i gave, i.e. living off my savings.
n00b mistake.

I absolutely hated signing on. :\

I did it for about 6 months and I felt like the biggest loser in the world. That must of been about 8 years ago now.
I'm sure that makes him feel much better about the situation. :D

Yer cruel bitch.

aye, no doubt honesty is the worst policy, right? maybe i should have looked into that. i wonder if being at the bottom of a cliff with a broken leg would have worked...

Well... I guess the theory is that if you just stick in a random claim, they really aren't going to bother checking up on your history. If you put in a backdated claim that stands to lose them a grand or so, then I suppose they're more likely to examine your bank transactions to validate any story you give them.

I say "noob mistake", but I actually think it was better you made it innocently. It's sod's law that they'd check up on you after you put in a dodgy claim. I wouldn't have the balls to lie to them outright.

What's the situation like renting a house/room when you're unemployed?

I want to change cities and find a job, rather than the other way round.

im gonna phone for a jsa interview this week. am i still gonna be able to claim even though i quit my last job??

any1 had any experience using temp agencies for like admin type work? as far as i can see that would be my best option to get a wage in quickly.
last time i had to sign on i was living at home so it wasnt that bad. iv never had to try n claim for my rent n shit before. is it gonna be a mission to get cash out them?? any advice at all would b appreciated =D

I told them I quit because of stress which was a lie, in a way, but they obviously didn't bother to check because I was able to claim from the day I left.

i told them it was the end of my contract.

technically correct.

i don't understand what use £60 a week is to people though. it's a help, of course, but how can someone with bills to pay live?
