^^ Good stuff, felix :D.

The thing that has me wondering, though, is the survival training in Rotterdam of all places. From what I remember of a long weekend in Holland, the main dangers to one's survival are being run over by cyclists and not falling in canals when you're wasted :D.

finally, some progress!

going to germany next week for a week (via the dam), then home for the weekend, then back out again for another week, home for the weekend, then rotterdam the following week for survival training, then going to angola some time in november. the boss man reckons we'll only need to spend 3-4 weeks in angola.

it's all becoming real. 8o and sounding much better than what i was envisaging. thank fuck.

Congrats. Angola eh? Wow! Don't get kidnapped, now.

with the financial sector going further under as each minute passes, I wonder if soon maybe I will be joining the job club :(

'Why do you want this job?'

If I'm asked this, should I mention the decent pay?

Leaving in an hour

EDIT: Looked it up online, I shouldn't.

Interview went really well, even though the woman had explained the job advert was a mistake (thought a security guard job at a call centre was weird).

Anyway, I said I want to work in security and she's really keen to get me a job with G4S so is keeping me on record and looking for some alternatives, she also gave me her mobile number in case I find something I can call her up directly and not go through the interview procedure again.

Good practice anyway.

Also, about that phone interview and me not knowing that was the actual interview. Well the guy called me and said they're doing more today and he's going to give me another shot.
Hopefully I can sell myself when I'm in my interviewee state of mind

Surely when he called you again, that was your second chance????? :)

I think she gave you her mobile number as she fancied a portion of eDDe9.;)

Was she fit?

Not bad. I would purely for the secretary shag in an office on a desk fantasy. Shame I have a girlfriend.

It was the agency that called me this morning, letting me know they put me in for today's load of interviews and told me the name of person interviewing me so I won't mess it up again.

Although, I wish I had some Scotch courage. I was all excited about it before, now I just want it over and done with.. not as enthusiastic now I know its £6.50 and not £8

Prob best to keep her keen though, just in case.;)

So was the security guard job not really a real job?

The advert shouldn't have been put up. She did find me some other jobs in Cribs Causeway and Aztec West, but they didn't pay the £8.53 that was advertised so hours commuting wouldn't be worth it.

Just had the telephone interview. :D:D:D:D:D

He asked if I have any previous call centre experience, I said "Well, I can't claim to be an expert in telesales Martin, but I'm very keen to learn, and I'm always working beyond expectation. Tell me, what training does your company provide?"

Obviously I had said more before hand, but when I said that he said "I like you, and I'm going to cut this short because I have loads of people to get through and I'm going to give you a chance. So come along on Thursday and Friday at 8:45am for training, but you really need to give it your all because everyone there will have experience."

Nicely done mate. Sometimes sucking up does seem to work ;)

What is it selling?

BTW, what did your bird think of Vegas?

Its raising money for charities. Every few weeks they do a different campaign for different charities and I'll be following up people who said they'll donate or taking calls from people who want to donate.

She loved it. I'll nick some photos from her facebook if you want, will put in travel thread with a better description than "she loved it."
If you all want me to, that is

Aye, i'm always interested in people opinions of Vegas. I've never been but i really want to go as it seems to cover lots of bases....drugs, gambling, boozing, strippers.....:)

Until almost 2 weeks ago i was a student 2nd year nurse, but wiping folks arses and whatnot was wearing a little thin so decided to look for a job again. I applied for a P/T drving job at Royal Mail, where i'd previously worked and made the mistake of leaving such an easy job not just got back from my interview and they've offered me a full time job instead! Hooray £8 hour for driving about the countryside listening to music, i'm well happy i'll just have to remember and not crash a van while stoned this time :p
