no point trying to change a system that doesnt want or need to be changed (unless you've got something (an idea) worth selling that is). If you can't change the world, change yourself as Matt Johnson warbles so lovely.

I've considered applying a few times, but decided against it... (I especially loved Evad's commie face/photoshop job 'we need you' or something similar, recruitment picture :D)

I told myself it's easier not to. And even though I've been an admin YEARS ago on a gaming forum/website I helped design (which no longer exists) I get no joy from waving the mod stick around. I have a great deal of respect for the mods (in general) and appreciate the work they do, but I see the shit they contend with also.

I dunno. I don't take myself seriously, so can't expect anyone else to :)

we don't do a lot of work (knock does it all), nor contend with much shit. It's easy.

I take myself very seriously, others don't. It's no obstacle to modderhood.

Some people might find this intra-staff spat entertaining, and some of the concerns addressed may well be valid.

But really - aren't we all a little old for this? It doesn't look good in the slightest.

There's a difference between a thread that veers a little off topic but sparks some interesting digressions and full-on peanut gallery material. It's a fine line to walk, and you'll always upset the drama fiends (or the people who confuse sticking to the BLUA with 'censorship'), but a lot of people genuinely can't be arsed wading through it.

I should know.
