Watched the Lego Movie the other day (with kids) - i actually enjoyed it (for a kids film) - the plot was functional; some quite funny 'grown-up' references, and (simplistic) political allegory (President Business).

Not much reccomendation, cos i'm probably the last to see it, but i watched The Dark Knight on telly the other night. Quite liked it (mex helped) - i (just about) remember reading the original Alan Moore graphic novels and a lot of it was very familiar (which is a good thing) despite how iritating bale is. Might have to find the second one now.

Yeah check out the 2nd, decent film. the 3rd is the worst out of the 3 in my opinion, proper overrated

i didn't even know there were three - the hype made me aviod the franchise tbh - is it the third one that had the shooting in the premiere? (maybe it was that bad)

seen The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.

not a bad movie but it surprised me in an unusual way for these types of movies. it was rather short - not that i would have wanted it longer, and this is one of the tiems that i really really felt the whole hobbit trilogy wouldve been a lot better with 2 movies or even 1 longish one. or better yet a tv miniseries or something.

also seen The Signal - scifi movie, seems low budgety, but looks good... kept having the feeling that it was trying a bit too hard to be smarter than it actually was

4.6 Billion Years of Love (aka Big Bang Love)

More Miike and another goodie. One of his less full-on films but that's not a criticism. Very nice visually and with the emphasis more on symbolism than plot. To me it seemed to be a bit of a meditation on death but I suspect there is more to it than that and is the type of film that benefits from multiple viewings I imagine so will be watching again.

I watched a movie last night and I surprisingly enjoyed it (not my normal)

Whiplash - Jazz music and struggles of a Drummer.

Another one to add to the list

What we do in the Shadows - Comedy Vampire movie

One to avoid - the latest Hobbit thing. What a pile!

'Prisoners'

When Keller Dover's daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family?

Director: Denis Villeneuve
Writer: Aaron Guzikowski
Stars: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis |

Dan - was thinking about another movie. Prisoners is a fantastic movie, watched it ages ago (pretty gritty)

Birdman is a strange movie but worth a watch.

what we do in the shadows is a great one though - really funny, New Zealand movie so pretty close to the British humor.

Couple more for the list (we had a storm over the weekend so ...)
Unbroken - POW drama.

The book of life - Animated film based on The Mexican Day of the dead. I'm sure I've been to a few of these imaginary worlds before - very swirly and pretty colors :D

NSFW:
I watched that time travel movie the other week (Predestination) so sort of guessed the movie half way through

Another couple that I've watched that I would recommend - I origins and Nightcrawler !

And all of a sudden I was seeing elevens everywhere

<_<

Just watched John Wick

Really good, definitely worth a watch

I enjoyed it, watched Wild sometime over the weekend. Slow movie but decent, Also watched the Stephen Hawkins movie - was really well made, went on a bit but still a good look into his life.

Have to say - I actually switched off 'American Sniper' its got great reviews - Directed by Clint Eastwood, it's simply awful.
