EADD 2012 Official UK Mushroom Thread

Where do people find shrooms then? I know daft question but what are the best fields one currently with cows and horses on them?
 
I've found green areas of housing estates and gardens the best the ground must be full of moss and soaking wet
 
Any damp grassland.

Shorter grass (playing fields, gardens) is easier to spot them, but more likely to be overpicked.

Longer grass you might think the field is barren, but they are there, hiding in the grass.

Don't worry too much about what animals are on there, try and find a dry windy day, after a long damp spell, and they will show up more easily, as they'll be nearly white, rather than camo brown as they are in wet grass.
 
Amazing photos marmalade. I've seen a few amanita muscaria here but they are rare. At the moment I can't walk anywhere without standing on liberty caps.
 
Went out for a stroll this morning, they were out in force. I reckon I've picked around 150 and I wasn't really putting much effort in as I only had an hour free. Sadly I can't take them for another 2-3 weeks. Gonna have a proper hunt tomorrow when I've got more time and stock up

Great pic Ceres. I'm going to my main field tomorrow, so hopefully it'll be similar.

Like mailmonkey, I prefer to pick when it's drier towards the end of the day, they stand out a mile like the ones in your pic.
Pisses me off when all the fallen (golden coloured) Birch leaves dupe me though, it happens a lot

Shush you! Ceres is waaaay too much of a gentleman for that

Tell me where the 13 shrooms are, I can only see 12. I think you're making up 13 and you can only really see 10 ;p
 
I've got photo's of closeup things like that which would put you off eating shrooms for life hahahah.
