EADD 2012 Official UK Mushroom Thread

when i tried to send a reply to your private message it said server error or something and i thought it might be because some forums don't activate the private messaging function for new members until they hit a certain amount of posts.. i was sure i'd read that that was true for this site but i was wrong, because i just tried there and it worked (though i only sent a test one and now i'm told "You may only post 1 messages every 180 minutes."

greenlighters can't send PMs, you need 50 posts first (unless this has changed?). Server errors are something else though, the website seems to have been overloaded lately.

You say it worked for you. Weird. Maybe you sent to staff, PMs to staff are exceptions to the rule, apparently.

^^

Last time I read about the PMs thing (about a month ago) ... I think it said Greenlighters could send 3 PMs per day, but there was a time restriction of 3 hours between each.

I vaguely remember there being something about only being able to have a 1 PM storage limit in their Inbox too (incl sent folder)

Don't take the above as gospel tho, it's just from speed* reading a few threads

* not phet speed, unfortunately

Are golf courses any good for libs? I heard that they were, but this was some time ago and could have been bullshit.

Does anyone know if these are psychedelic ones? Have a feeling they're not. I know they're not libs anyway. I went all dizzy and weird after I finished picking and then noticed a cut on my finger so I might have absorbed some poison lol was shittin it. Was either that or foraging round too much without having breakfast.

Not 100% but I think they look mainly to be Hay Caps (Panaeolina/panaeolus foenisecii) ... because a lot of the stems are snapped in your pic, and they look like the ones I see all the time while hunting for libs. The stems snap instantly if you bend em, whereas libs don't so much. My little pocket Collins Mushroom guide says 'may produce hallucinations', but I've never picked or taken them personally

There also looks like there might be a few Brown Bell Caps (Conocybe tenera) in there too, but they aren't considered active, and Collins has them as Inedible: insubstantial.

Woo! Work is taking me VERY near a golf course for a few days this week. Golf course to one side, sheep fields to the other.

Jan, there's a guide thing that someone either posted here or at shroomery which is a legit guide some org or wildlife trust produced where people have submitted the co-ordinates of places all different types of mushrooms have been spotted. It's a bit labourious to work through, but you can use the find facility in firefox to list the town/area and check on each page of finds to see if your location is there, and also look at all the other places in your region they've been found over the last 20ish years.

It lists by mushroom type, then by area. very helpful. will try to find the link if I've still got it. Think I or someone else might have linked it in last year's thread if that's still about or archived

Thanks for that. Yeah I try to pinch the stems instead of yanking them out because I heard that damages the roots. I was hoping a few would be strictipes some of them look quite similar but I wouldn't trust myself enough to take them unless they were libs anyway. Oh well bin it is then.

CURIOUS and USEFUL. Cheers Marmz, I'll have a look. If this place comes up trumps I'll be taking tupperware, and possibly a balaclava, as being observed on an early-morning hunt would probably not go down well with my employer.

Someone said last year be careful of golf courses if they were recently sprayed with fungi killer ya get really sick

Fair enough, cheers. It'll be a crack of dawn raid if it's anything I reckon, so I should get there before any sprayers...

Anyone had much luck? Left it too late this last year and don't want to do the same this time round, still doesn't seem to be much appearing though? Gonah take a drive in my mates car with somewhere with a better altitude I think.

Hi. Have been checking this forum, amongst other sources trying to work out where the little fellas are this year. From Calderdale and have been looking high and low, (particularly high as I live at a high altitude). Went looking at a particularly renowned spot first thing this morning (there's also a golf course nearby), which I've been told is meant to be flourishing, which makes sense as it is at the highest point around. Whilst wading around some sheep fields, the farmer called me, asking what I was doing. He asked if I was looking for mushrooms and went on to say that it has been too wet and cold this year, also that the sheep like eatin em as well. Taking it from a man who owns the land I think it is a pretty safe to say its actually been a pretty washout year, as he himself hadn't seen any. Then again haven't had great luck in the past but have learned that it's all about timing. Just thought I'd report my personal findings.

From reports I've seen, the best picking so far seems to be in the north of England. Further south seems more hit and miss.
I'm in Wales, and while I'm doing ok, the last 5 years have all been better, at least in terms of weight picked by this time of year. Other people I know have found it slow going too, not just for libs but also for many edible species. Things have picked up in the last week for me, but I still haven't found a cap below 700 feet yet, and I'm checking previously good spots every week.
So I'd say get to the hills if you can. Perfect weather this week, damp and mild.

Ahh found it..

Right I've spotted a patch of what I'm 99% certain is the right ones just down from my house, off for a quick raid just now. How many for a reasonable trip? I've only ever done them after taking NRG-1 when the psychosis hit, nasty experiance but apparently in the right frame of mind they provide a nice clean positive headspace?

Think I'll save them for a while and trip with my mate, next month probably. Any other recommendations for combo's? I was thinking with some ketamine probably be nice.

I only do it by weight. But I'd say 1.5 grams just to get a feel for 'em. They go extremely well with MDMA and AMT in my experience.

AMT and mushy's is the perfect combo ... Very intense visual fractal almost mechanical themed trip of the amt that went very quickly into more of a colourful, warm and earthy trip ... Theres some golfcourses near me i want to check out but the only problem with them is theres usually illuminati golf wankers on em' .. Think i may leave the old field behind as its being abused and obviously nobodys been flicking before there picking :(
