bum n face....boooooring!

if u like music with a breakbeat then check out nuskool breaks/hard techno/breakcore. much more adventurous/progressive, better people and they aren't ruined by some twat talking shit about his 'boys' down the mike wherever you go (for examples of decent mcing check stevie hyper d and pre '98 skibba and fearless).

the dnb scene is full of wankers and the music attracts trouble wherever it goes. all figment of individualism seems to have been removed from the music recently, it's nothing compared to what it used to be. just look at the crap pendulum churn out these days.

however, if you're a dnb type person then check out John B if you haven't already. he's the only producer/dj making new stuff and playing out in the genre i can actually be arsed listening to.

sorry for the outburst but it's a shame to see a product of britain go completely up it's own arse as dnb has

nuskool breaks? haha. i suppose its alright if you really enjoy the sound of popcorn in a microwave. i say FUCK nuskool breaks.

i also say a big FUCK YOU to anyone who suggests the dnb scene is full of wankers. perhaps its just because mindless outcasts as yourself do not have a developed taste in music, and have to pick a genre apart to make yourself seem knowledgeable, when in fact you know absolutely fuck all.
have you produced anything? i'd really like to hear your 'individualised' garbage.

this forum is for speaking your mind and sharing opinions, but when some uneducated wankfest arrives and starts taking the piss out of a quality Aussie artist... no thanks.

Amen. :)

It's going down!! If the dogs off the leash then the dogs gonna fight...if the dogs in the ring then the dogs gonna fight...ITS GOING DOWN!!

Heh. I do love me drum n bass. You can't beat it for a night of huge grins and bouncing. I remember when someone dropped "Vault" randomly at the end of term student party thang. There was no going back. There's something about it that is unbeatable - the urge to dance round like a complete lunatic, the feel of the bass as it kicks in waiting for the next sketchy beat to trip you up and send you in a different direction.

There are a lot of gripes and drum n bass at the minute. All this rude-bwoy culture seems to have passed me by in the frozen north, and as we are quite a minority against the masses of R&B/Commercial wank that is thrown against us, it's a fairly welcoming community. That's why I love it. Drop into turbulence (local club night) and you'll get a warm welcome. You wont get shrugged off like you would in a lot of other clubs in Newcastle, you'll get a conversation, ranging from what drugs you've been taking to whether or not a third-world war would increase the number of free parties.

People also bitch at the music. "It's all murky basslines and repetative beats, and crappy MC's yelling over the top". Well. Yeah. There is a lot of that. And I don't like it. But that's not all drum and bass. Listen to High Society for fucksake. There are so many directions Drum and Bass can go in it never fails to keep me entertained.

It's the only genre of "dance" music that keeps me completely on my toes. You can have completely orgasmicly loved up tunes, then quickly switch to something so grimey it gives you a sore neck for weeks afterwards, then off in a completely different direction for something a lot more chilled to wind down the night. It's the music that gets me warmed up for a night out; no matter where I'm going or who I'm with, bung on Dreadlock or Fizzy Piglets and I'm ready to take on the world. And because no-one ahs plugged them yet, I think everyone should check out Future Prophecies. Impressive stuff.

Anyway. I've spouted enough shite for now.

^ nice post, most definitly agree with you for the most part, cept i do love those hardly audible murkey sub-bass growls ! (wheres the evil emoticon??)

i do hate the whole rude-boy culture that surrounds it though, its like a bad smell that follows the genre around.
future prophecies are definitly worth mentioning actually, i love the way they add live instruments into there sets.
whats that tune with the Didgeridoo?? can't remember its name..

Hmm... Not sure. Could be Euphoria - there's a lot of mad pipe stuff going on in that track. I will have to go raid my mates vinyl and check. Tunes to find, people:
