bum n face....boooooring!

if u like music with a breakbeat then check out nuskool breaks/hard techno/breakcore. much more adventurous/progressive, better people and they aren't ruined by some twat talking shit about his 'boys' down the mike wherever you go (for examples of decent mcing check stevie hyper d and pre '98 skibba and fearless).

the dnb scene is full of wankers and the music attracts trouble wherever it goes. all figment of individualism seems to have been removed from the music recently, it's nothing compared to what it used to be. just look at the crap pendulum churn out these days.

however, if you're a dnb type person then check out John B if you haven't already. he's the only producer/dj making new stuff and playing out in the genre i can actually be arsed listening to.

sorry for the outburst but it's a shame to see a product of britain go completely up it's own arse as dnb has

^ please stop talking shit. stop making generalisations and saying drum n bass is shit because of one aspect of it. only SHIT drum n bass attracts little rudeboy fuckers, they like cheesy jump up clownstep and they probably don't even like the music just the MC. (mcs are shit by the way).
pendulum ARE shit (imo), but thats because its obvoius big-bass dancefloor music that gets boring after the second listen.
the mainstream dnb culture in britian is shit but the smaller underground nights have quality people that actually like the music.

you can have your cheesy funky nu-skool shite, and i'll stick to my techstep thankyou very much.

Time for some edjumacation folks! Learn about the roots of one of the core elements of drum and bass: the amen break.

also, those interested in the history of drum and bass, check out this mix i made of tunes from 1992 to 1997

Other good historical mixes: History Part 2: The Rough and the Smooth from 1996.. covers most of the anthems and huge tunes from 1993 to 1996

MSX00.1 - Moving Shadow's 10th Anniversary CD from 2000.. really gives you a good feel for how dnb progressed from hardcore to the sound we know today
