Drugs in the workplace (Merged)

i'm not and it sucks. i'm selling coats in Alaska and being an outgoing salesperson is a fucking drag when i'm not high. when i'm flying on opiates, whoo boy i'll sell you a sherman tank when you're just looking for a leather jacket. when i'm completely sober, like right now, every customer who comes in i want to tell them to fuck off.
 
malfunkshun, I hear you totally! Love to be on the phone when I'm high, a real go getter I am, when I'm not I can't stand to look at the fuckin' phone.... what year are those Sherman tanks your selling????
 
well they're brand new of course, just rolled off the assembly line. but since i'm not high you can fuck off :D
 
^^LOL. I know the feeling. I'm usually high on hydrocodone or oxy at work. I'm a newspaper reporter and it makes it a helluva lot easier to conduct interviews (because of my social anxiety) and create interesting stories for the daily paper. Also helps me get assignments done before deadline. Opiates just make the day so much easier and fun...until I run out. Then it becomes terribly difficult to be productive with chills, runny nose and all the sweating. That part sucks ass.
 
i hang sheetrock and im on 110mg methadone every day .... them opiates make you work like a dog lemme tell ya!
 
oh god i almost forgot my story about getting high on my lunch break back in highschool....

well i was working at the local supermarket as a stockboy and it was a cake job i would just bag groceries occasionally and stock shelves ( just a nice chill job) well earlier that day at school they had some guys selling pre rolled blunts in welding class and this was before i was a heavy weed smoker i would just barely smoke like at parties and stuff well anyways the guy who was selling told me he had regular blunts for five and some real good dank(supposed to be "endo" but it was prolly just good schwag) for 10 a blunt so i bought the one for 10 and saved it in my car after school i would change in the bathroom and go straight to work because my shifts were 4-9 and i like to get there at 3 to add up some extra hours. so i started my work just bullshittn around here and there and i got to talkin with one of the other stock boys about weed and it got me wanting to smoke bad and i figured it would make the time fly by so on my break i went ride in my car smoke by myself. WEEELL i was about half way thru and i was fuckin BLISTERED i mean stupid high i was so paranoid i threw the half i had left out the car cuz i didnt want to ride with it i was so nervous to come back to work cuz my eyes were BLOODSHOT baaad so i smoked about 5 cigarettes before i went in to hide the smell and right when i clocked in they call me to the office man i was shitting i was so scared i could hear my heart beating well i go in and the boss is like "well the cashier called in sick and i need you to run the register can you help us out?" i didnt want him to suspect anything s0 i just agreed so i can get the hell out of his office i got set up on the register and man it was the worst mistake of my life i was sooo soo high its like the noises were just like charlie brown all distored mixed with the auto matic doors the beeping of the items being scanned and everyon talkin it sounded like the adults on charlie brown lmao my god but the worst was a lday came up to me and wanted to pay foodstamp and to do that you have to press foodstamp on the register then they swipe then you hit enter so it goes thru then it like dials out and it either gets approved or unapproved well i had 3everything rang up and she slid her card and we waited waited and waited then she started bitching "wats taking so long wats taking so long???@??" then it was I WANNA TLAK TO YOUR MANGAGER so he comes to try to fix and and the whole fucking time i just had to hit enter to send it thru maaan did i feel like an idiot thas when i realized i couldnt do it and let me remind you this was mabye my 3rd customer and the first 2 i gave the wrong change(ended up being 20 dollars over i found out the next day) so after that lady i closed my reg told the other cashier im goin to the bathroom so i went in the bathroom and sat down try to catch my head but i couldnt i was freaking out i could hear the electricity in the walls then all kinds of peoople were knocking on the door i was thinking THEY KNOW IM HIGH FUCK THEY KNOW!!!! so long story short after i got out the bathroom which i was in for 30 mintues i told them i was throwing up in there and had to go home so i left got a triple thick chocolate milkshake from micky d's and rented fear and loathing went home and then i fine and dandy ;)
 
I think this is another social topic that belongs in drug culture. If the mods disagree feel free to move it back, close it, or do whatever..

I always go to work high on some kind of CNS depressant. Mainly opiates and/or benzos, or when I'm off those drugs I at least smoke a little weed before going in to work. The thought of going to work completely sober would be painful. I work at an office job doing everything from computer programming, administration, tech support, repair, etc. along with other non-computer related tasks for the company. I dose every morning and usually I dose again around 4pm or so at work once I've fully digested my lunch.

^ I feel you man..lol. You think your going to be fine and can handle weed, then when you are high you're thinking to yourself damn I shouldn't have smoked. You start getting paranoid and freaking out, lol. Man that's happened soooo many times to me at work i'm suprised I never got fired from that job, working as the cash register.
But I totally feel you. You'd think I'd learn not to smoke before work, but I always think that I can handle it.
 
I work in hospitality in a 4 and a half star hotel on the reception desk. No way am I going to act like little mr sunshine to moron guests who mostly complain without a little stimulation every now and then.
It's pretty much always a nice pipe of rock, really the only thing that allows me to function in that environment.
Only been to work rolling hard off pills once after a big night out. Went straight from the club to work at 7am and had to rail halves all shift just to stay awake. Never again!

Anyone else play hotel with a head full of chemicals?

for me, it is 100% normal to be stoned at work. A work day without opiates is a bad day:( Its raises some eyebrows when Im back there working, sweating my ass off under these bigass heat lamps but Im shivering at the same time lol It fucking sucks:\

Seriously. Anyone that has ever worked food service knows that at least half the people there are fucked up. I used to work at red lobster as a bus boy. A couple employees figured this trick out to where you can take a hit and flush the toilet right under the air vent and the smoke would somehow be sucked away. They used to smoke crack in that bathroom! haha

No need to encourage dangerous shit under the influence, swift

i always feel a little loose while at work from the suboxone, even tho i have been on it for a while now, i still can feel it when i take it...its not strong, but i can tell the difference.

plus im usually stoned...i drive a delivery truck for a whole sale greenhouse, sop i dont smoke while i drive or anything, but i do take a hit or two in the morning before i load the truck. at night i work in a gym at the front desk, and i always go in there blazed. its boring as hell haha

I was actually thinking of being on something while working, since I work at this clothing store (that nobody ever comes in) alone.
 
^you should definately go for it... I worked at (insert large company name here) and I was fucked up constantly its really the way to go
 
almost everybody at my work smokes weed. a couple of them are right into their drug use and i've consumed a fair few things with them from acid to bulbs.

I used to work Medical Transportation. I would pick-up patients from a surgery center, which had a pharmacy on the first floor. I would convince patients that I had a surgery on a knee, was in a lot of pain, and needed my medication which ran out couple of days ago, and I can't go to see my doctor because he is on vacation. Gulliable patients would almost always share their pills with me.
