I find good ol' music from the 80s , 90s video games era.
Like your totally in the game while high.... its great.

My favorites are Massive Attack, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Flaming Lips, Radiohead, and some Nine Inch Nails (the softer stuff).

I play a few different insturment and i have to agree the less drugs the better. A little bit of alchohol IME has been beneficial while performing, but ive also had bad experiences playing on drugs. More practice and less drugs equals good music. I say this even though a lot of the music i listen to are performed by people on drugs

I definitely can feel the groove better when I'm stoned. Initially I couldnt play at all, but I was forced to learn by one of my buddies. Drunk, I enjoy it alot, but I suck. I dont have much experience playing music on anything else, although I did program some sick beats when I was on 2C-I.

I no longer indulge in the opiates, but here's some of the music I fell in love with around the time I started getting really into opiates (with some of my favorite tracks of theirs):

The Skatalites:'
w/ Stranger and Patsy - "Hey Hey Baby"
"Eastern Standard Time"
"Four Corners"
"Heavenless"
"Swing Easy"

The Ethiopians:
"Let Me Blow My Smoke"
"I'll Never Get Burned"

Justin Hinds and the Dominoes: (best ska ever, except of course for the Skatalites)
"Over the River"
"King Samuel"
"No Good Rudie"

The Slackers:
"Work Song"
"Two Face"

if you dont mind a little metal I reckomend some kyuss, clutch, corrosion of conformity and ofcourse.... tool

I play bass. Personally, I think it's best to be sober while playing music. It's easy to fall into the trap of "best song ever" when you're high on something and come up with something halfass clever. On the other hand, I love playing freeform, jammy type stuff while high.

This just sounds like, whats your favorite music thread. Really, whatever your predisposed music tastes are only tend to be amplified while on opiates. However, seems like most go for a more mellow tone, but of course that makes sense.

Music to make u Lose it?

Ive been doing a lot of Shrooms/LSD lately, and Im expiramenting with different types of music, for example Screamo such as ahimsa sunrise will make someone really pumped with decent visual-enhancing effects, techno is kinda of trancing... But im after hardcore visual enhancing music that will just put you into a lost/dazed/tranced state of visual oblivion... The setting im planning on being my room, dark, laying/sitting down without moving much, and listening to music for the duration of the trip, which should be around 4 hours since Im taking shrooms..

Anyones thoughts/ideas/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Demon Days by Gorillaz. Excelent album, and it takes you on a journey. Same for The White Album by the Beatles. Two of my favs for tripping. Also, although Ive never heard it, I keep reading about this band called Shpongle (i think) that seems to be a fav of mushie trippers.

EDIT: vvv Yes, Pink Floyd too, how could i have forgotten

What he said.

Personally really atmospheric prog is my favoured stuff. Check out the producers mentioned above. Big basslines, lots of percussion and trancey sounding breakdowns.
