i love loud music, it gives me chills when i gets louder and louder, like im peaking on any drug that im on.


at raves, the music being loud is very important cause the bass moves through you and makes you wanna dance dance dance and move your body with along with it.

with weed, its great to hear music loud cause everything is in such slow motion that you want to savior every note like its the last one you'll ever hear. i love music, its my blueprint to visuals when im on some good shit.

Opiates definitly increase my playing ability, but most importantly my creativity. I tend to compose and write more while on them. And the best part is, you can play and play and play without your hands hurting.

When im stoned my ideas flow a bit more freely when Im improvising shit on the guitar. When im speeding, I enjoy practicing my scales up and down the neck of the guitar, well anything associated to soloing for that matter

When I used to be a stoner, I couldn't even keep my concentration on playing for 30 seconds straight. I'd just mess around the fretboard for a couple of minutes, get bored of it and left the guitar back where it was.

Lyrics were impossible to write too - I'd forget what the last sentence I had written was.

Cocaine makes you THINK you're doing your best work ever, only to wake up the next day thinking what a waste of time/money it all was.

And LSD makes you think you're making really great music, but unfortunately you're the only one who's gonna think it's great, everyone else is not gonna hear all those "connections" you made with your head full of acid.

Amphetamines are pretty much the same as coke I guess.

So all in all, keep your head sober and you'll make better stuff.

Hmm well I didn't say that exactly but yes, they do seem like the best type for making music. History also proves that while cokeheads end up making shit music, H-heads tend to be better.

Then again, on opiates ANYTHING is good, which is something quite counterproductive for any type of creative work - you'll think the song you made is the greatest ever, just because you're high as fuck on H.

it seems like the professional musicians I have experienced work best with alcohol and opiates. alcohol is just given for most musicians since most gigs are at bars or parties with prevelant booze - I mean, how can ya not indulge when the house gives you a free tab for drinking? opiates are also popular and it seems that most "made" musicians play constantly while on 'em.

blazing weed is also common, but I don't feel I make my best beats on the drums when chiefin'. the only music I feel comfortable playing while high on bud is jam-band type shit.

some musicians are against any drugs while performing, but my stance is if you can handle it and not fuck up, then what is the matter? it may be because I play drums, but I have mastered the art of being fucked up and playing gigs in front of fans. if you can't do it then don't. it will only give you a bad reputation.

Like was said before , good trance is fun sometimes if you're into that sort of thing........a cool idea for a change of pace is rather than the traditional DJs , check out a band like Sound Tribe Sector 9 which has an electronica inspired sound but also some amazing musicianship. It depends on what kind of mood you're in and are going for really man. Personally , I don't like anything TOO dark sounding on that stuff....but would totally vote again for Velvet Underground. Just something with a ton of soul that jams

A lot of people have said it already, but you can't go wrong with The Velvet Underground, or anything Lou Reed.

Especially The VU's song "Heroin"
