Against my better judgment I logged on again tonight.
hey, im sorry delta, i didnt mean to cause offence.
You did not.
i no its annoying when the same questions keep coming up as i read you put earlier, but i personally feel that means this website is doing its job properly. new people are joining all the time and the same questions annoy all us regulars who have to see them everyday, but then bl as site is working then and doing what its supposed to.
Yes the same questions get posted many times over, especially here in ED(just ask any ED mod), however we have threads like
this for a reason, and forums regularly go through 'pruning'
because people don't use threads like this. Bluelight only has so much space, and it is
not intended for repeat threads. It has been stated many times that using the search engine is priority 1 when you have a question.
maybe if the newbies are greeted with a bit of a welcome rather than having the book thrown at them, theyll stay around, and learn much more
Many,
many of my posts for newcomers look like this -

It is usually the people who already know the rules who get what you call the "colder" treatment. The absolute 1st thing that should be done when registering in a forum is reading the rules. If these people do not do this then why I am at fault for pointing it out?
Also, I simply do not have time to post 3 or 4 links to the rules(which should already have been known) in
every thread I come across.
Even if I post a simple "This has been covered, please search next time", or "Post Reported", it is not disrespectful, despite what people believe.
It is me trying to do what I can to help the staff which as far as I'm aware is appreciated. If it is not, and a staff member reads this, then PM and will never use the 'report' button again.
In fact, if the consensus here truly is that I'm not wanted/trouble/whatever you wanna call it. I will never enter ED again.
