"Drugged: High on Ecstasy"

No problem RA :)

Sorry to go off topic again, but mods, maybe just a suggestion here. clearly by reading the beginning of this thread, it is not common knowledge worldwide that we have already seen this episode in the UK last week, or the title of the programme was orignally how drugs work by the BBC.

i feel in this instance, RA would not of related the subject to the thread already posted in the media threads.

Also, if feelings are we need some more intersting hot topic over here ref: thread "ED suggestions", then judging by our uk forums reactions, this thread is going to become highly popular and intersting with lots of topical debate after tonights show, and im sure the members will want to participate and air there views.

i guess all im suggesting is possibly if there is room for this thread to stay here for the time being to see how it goes and whether people show interest.

im pretty confident they most definitley will later tonight. nearly a week later and were still talking about it over on the european board

Ah, gotcha. Well I saw the preview for the XTC portion and part of the preview mentioned Dopamine the mechanism of action of E. (we all know serotonin is responsible for the PLURRRRR) SO we'll see how factual it turns out to be eh?

I just saw the preview too. I'm still gonna watch when it comes on in a couple minutes, but WTF? Really? I mean really? NatGeo can't even get that much right? I have a feeling this show is just gonna piss me off.

uhh
MDMA releases dopamine too.
they has serotonin releasers, non neurotoxic, that release just as much serotonin as MD (last i knew, like the IAI ones or whaeva) but with no dopamine release, no "magickz"
so?

^yes, I am quite aware that mdma releases dopamine in addition to seratonin, but seratonin is the key

well without dopamine release there is no "magic" tho
the IAIs release serotonin or whaeva but dont feel like MD cause there be no dopamien

Yea...watching it now...doesn't sound like she took mdma, but some dirty shit. Even if it was, she obviously took WAY too much. Asshole NatNeo propoganda.

10 years from mdma being prescribed? Let the countdown begin! I gotta befriend someone with PTSD. ;-)

That's about the only good thing to come outta the show. They tried to pin a guy's death on ecstasy caused hyperthermia. Sorry, but how is it that a guy can get hyperthermia from ecstasy from taking a couple pills at someone's house and I don't get it from taking handfulls of pills in unventilated clubs dancing for hours on end over and over and over?

Obviously, we're not being given the whole story on the kid's death.

^ i dont really find it that unbelievable.. i felt like the program was fairly unbiased.

^Just seems like they search to find these stories to exploit and don't give all the details cause of all the people i know who roll and all their friends, NONE of them have ever had any serious problems from taking ecstasy.

It goes without saying, I can't say the same thing for alcohol or cigarettes, but they're legal.

not one mention of piperazines or any other adulterants were mentioned once, all the negative things in the show were all put on mdma, that one chick probably sat and poipped pipe after pipe until she passed out. if she was takin real shit she wouldnt have redosed every ten minutes, eventually she wouldve been like woah, this is the real shit, i mean come on

^ or maybe shes just a moron and took way too much for her first time..

i would suspect the hospital she went to would have tested for the active chemicals in her system. if it wasnt mdma they would probably know..
