i was thinking about this last night, i really dont think i will ever come off the methadone , i just think i would end up back on the gear in no time at all

i mean look at me last 24 hrs .. first time i have had a wee rattle in over a year and im begging my folks for cash to go score ffs

not like it was even a full on rattle either

I would highly recommend getting off the 'done. Green Handcuffs. And about as shitty as drugs get. Fuck that. I'd rather be back shooting speedballs in the gutter 24/7 than ever use fuckin' 'done ever again. Not only crap but also pure evil incarnate. If you need to deal with a serious opi addiction then switch to bupe quicksmart would be my advice. At least you get to feel pretty good whilst on it (best antidepressant ever?) and have energy, life, vim and vinegar and all that good stuff even if you are still a slave to the poppy. Plus you don't even have to rattle and can actually quit the stuff for real and forever if you so choose. Fuck methadone.

Going for a long break from the skunk. It hardly gets me high anymore and is really fucking my head up at the minute. I am aiming to keep off it for 1 month then I am going to try to keep it to night time only to avoid my tolerance going back up to where it is now. It will be the longest break I have ever had in over 10 years, not quite sure how I am going to manage but I have to try.
 
Sensible move mate, compared to some people's 'diets' on here weed doesn't seem like a very big thing but it jolly well can eat away at your life. Might need a bit of a lifestyle change to make it happen but I'm sure you can do it.
 
Kind of failed at my sabbatical, I dont think that setting a long term target is a good idea for me, need to just take each day as it comes.

Got drunk last night with 4 cans of bud on top of some diaz and can't really remember the last hour or so. I must have passed out, was why I was late for work as I forgot to set my alarm. I think I am going to throw my buphedrone away as I almost messed up with that at the weekend too but stopped myself before it was too late and didn't miss any work because of it.

Will just try and take each day as it comes now, and make sure I don't have any more fuck ups with missing work. Joined the gym now so I can go there in the evenings if I get the urge to do some drugs and go for a swim or something.

So not really on a sabbatical anymore, just more of a calming down and sorting things out ical.

Good luck mate. It's been 25 years or so since I've been dry of d'erb, apart from holidays. I use it as pain relief, but it has other benefits sure :) But I think importantly, I've managed to keep it to an end of day thing. Due to ineffective pain killers I knew it would be long term, so I always promised myself that it should be evening only. I know it effects my life in a negative way to a degree, but there is positive there too in my music composition for one! The balance is about right for me..as long as I keep it to night time.

I know continued daytime use can suck you in, so Stick with it mate.

Yeah It can get a bit crazy if you let it lol. Like you say, its not a thing compared to some peoples problems but its hard to break the habit.

That's good to hear that you manage to keep it to the end of the day, at least I know it can definitely be done now :)
 
Right.... I'm stopping smoking weed. It's not doing me any favours being stoned all the time. I love it but I have forgotten how to do certain things without it and I seem to be trapped in a cycle of not wanting it when I have it and buying more as soon as I run out. First test is tonight as I'll be seeing the dealer socially. I need at least 2 months off just to recalibrate my sensors.

i managed 2 quit skunk for 3 months till last week .
granted i had a bit of hash but only about a 8th in 3 months .
When i got some last week it was nice n i appreciated it alot more.

I feel I can post in here, I'm only taking Benzos at the mo, no stims non Booze...that's not bad going in my book any how;)

I'm thinking of doing the same. I've smoked weed daily for years, and I'm finally coming to realise I'm not getting that much out of it any more. Plus it costs too much.

I had an enforced break recently and did some singing for somebody. It was amazing how much better my voice sounded without all the crap in my lungs. Maybe that can be my motivation; like you say, it's easy to forget what you enjoy doing without it.

Anyway, keep us posted!

Just be careful guys, me giving up a 15 year + smoking habit was the start of my problems with booze.

But them I dont need to tell you that what with you all being experts and all :D

Ironically I only started smoking weed because of my teenage alcoholism. It worked for a while (I was completely dry for nearly three years in total) , then unfortunately things fell apart.
 
In my view for some strange reason the 2 are interchangeable with ease I to started smoking ( hash ) when my drinking was getting out of hand at about 16.

Good luck man, some time off is always good if it is getting too much.


I am currently having a break, on day one now. My last break only lasted 3 days but I will make this one last longer.
 
I received a letter from my doctor yesterday saying i had been accepted for an opiate substitute once i take in a urine sample. Probably do that today or Monday. I had acupuncture for first time after my drug work group session on wed. It felt nice to learn to relax and i was wandering around town all floaty for half an hour. This means ill be fixed in time for new job in August. i hope. Can try my best.
