    Welcome Guest!

Does it annoy anyone else that...

Just finished watching it.

This part really summed it all up for me and in the best way possible for someone who's never used to know what it's like. That is why I will always support legalization and the restart of therapeutic uses for MDMA.

I wonder what the guy at the beginning was talking about everytime you take ecstasy it's like playing russian roulette. Eventually someone is gonna get a bullet in the brain.

Never mind I watched the whole special and it's just another government propaganda machine at work.

What are you talking about? Ecstasy Rising is the only special I've seen that's not government propaganda.

and thadocta13, i agree with you on that part.. Fuck that shit. Mac Dre made some cool songs and shit but I fucken hate how some ignorant ass people think he like started "thizzing".. I also hate that term "thizz," its fucken annoying. But in regards to the getting "violent" and "mean" stuff, I think it's just that some people roll differently than we do. They just see it as something that feels good and don't feel the empathy that comes with it. Not to be racist or anything (I myself am mexican), but it seems to me like most mexicans and black people see it as just a way to feel good and get fucked up, while most white people feel the empathy that comes with it. Now of course that's a major generalization and definitely lots of exceptions, but it's just something I've noticed

lots of people are liek
"OH EHM GEE YOUVE TRIED ECSTASY YOURE DOING CRAZY DRUGS ECSTASY IS HORRIBLE!!11"

Yeah, I find it dumb that I've known several people that drink themselves into a stooper several nights a week and I tell them I do ecstasy on occasion and they suddenly treat me like some low-life, druggie loser. My roll buddies and I have got it together way more than most of the boozers I know, yet we're treated like criminals when they get whole establishments dedicated to their destructive, mistake making habit.

^^ Agreed! There are far more people who die from drunk-driving accidents on their way home from bars than there are kids dying of overdoses or drowning themselves with water.

I won't disagree that ecstasy is dangerous, considering it's a stimulant drug, but I do think the media gives us a gross exaggeration.

For instance, all of you have been shown that infamous picture by now, the one of the so-called 'swiss-cheese brain' that you supposedly develop from ecstasy? There are so many people out there that believe that the drug actually burns perforations into your brain and leaves cavernous holes in your tissue. The picture is actually of a brain scan directly after ecstasy use.. the 'holes' show parts of the brain that are temporarily shut off, which is why you have that delightful fried-eggs-and-clubkid feeling the morning after. However, your brain is a bit more resilient than they would like you to believe, and heals itself in time. Usually takes about 4 weeks to replenish itself, as long as you're good to your brain during that time. Not saying there are no long-term physiological consequences, ever, but healthy people bounce back pretty well.

They were giving the same warning in the 60's about acid, and yet, most of our parents are still alive and well.

I've had friends say they "don't want holes in their brain" or ythat they heard about someone who "died instantly!" LOL, I've heard even crazier things than that....

The fact is, it's frustrating trying to educate people without feeling like you're being looked at like a "druggie" or an enthusiast with an agenda....

I try to inform people breifly that "yes, a HUGE portion of pills are sold as MDMA and have all sort of crap in them besides that...real MDMA is hard to come by, and it causes fewer deaths than tylenol....it was actually used for trauma and therapy...." <--somethung like that.

I try to keep an open mind- though there are plenty of drugs I am extremely afraid of and don't think I'd ever touch, I'm no expect and it's not my place to blanket-judge everyone who chooses to use them.

I do understand why ecstasy needs to be illegal, or at least not readily available (i.e. not for sale at the liquor store.) It has a high potential for abuse and abuse of ecstasy leads to problems. I get that. Many people can't keep their use under control and making it illegal and harder to get makes that use a little more manageable.

But, in general, I find the war on drugs to be doing more harm than good. Illegality begets crime and crime begets violence.

I'm with you on this one. I think that while MDMA should not be an illegal drug, I feel that it's main use should be what it was originally intended to be. A therapeutic drug that helps people be honest with themselves and helps them move past trauma in their lives. I know sometimes I don't explain my ideas very well but that's what I think.
