It may have been. That happened to me a few years back, and I hopped off to go pee only to discover I didn't have to pee.
It wasn't until last year I figured out I didn't, in fact, have to pee and just went with it.
My ex was really into it and pressured me to do it all the time. As soon as the pressure started, the squirting stopped. Since then, I've squirted twice- once while drunk and once while on e. There's definitely a mental aspect. I'm sure a lot of girls hold back, whether deliberately or unintentionally.
