Do you even get high?

For starters you just said "scientifical". That should end the discussion but here is a little more information.

Chronic pain is a bitch. He didn't say "great" feeling. There is a vast difference between medicinal usage and recreational usage. For me, the same pain relief is still brought about (and it's been over a year) by the same dosage.

This is one of the things pain management doctors are looking for. While they except some amount of dosage titration they don't expect to find it every few months (with a few exceptions: cancer, terminally ill, etc).

However for functioning chronic pain sufferers (i.e. not dying) it is found time (and time again) that they settle into a certain dosage and they are set for many years (unless there is an increase in pain).

Call any pain clinic, tell them you are doing a study for your school on the difference between terminally ill and functioning chronic pain sufferers. If someone will take the time to meet with you, you'll find that everything LT and I are saying is true.

The moment you stop viewing narcotics as medicine and decide they are a gateway to recreation, you lose. You will constantly chase the "high" and you will never get there.

However, when used as prescribed (shocking!) you will find a dose that offers adequate pain relief but does not get you "high". Because you aren't looking for a high. You are looking for relief.

well, first off i onoly read the first few wsentences...

i thought he was talking about a high, not PM

ok i read it...no its not shocking that people uuse narcotics medicinally...i know MANY friends who get prescribed 100s of pills and use them as prescribed...

just stop

I'm surprised that no one mentioned this, even though I guess a lot of you would say this doesn't work: Switch opiates.

Even after a week long heroin binder, I can catch a decent buzz off a 10 mg Vike. If I don't want to go through WD's, and maintain on hydrocodone or oxy, for...say...a month, when I get back on the gear, it feels great.

Heck yeah boy, I still get high. Of course I struggle with tolerance the same as the next person, but through abstinence and discipline, as well as switching up the opioids I use, I do just fine.%)

I mean, I can still get the high I want but it takes around 90 mg or so of OC to get me off....but i'll be feeling good then. It's still alot of loot, brand name 80's here are $XX

no prices unless in the price thread. does no one even read the rules stickied to the forum anymore? Sheesh. -SIM

your talking about the fentylnal pactch?

Yes, and the Percocet are prescribed too.

When in doubt, go for a jog... it's the best cheap high you can get, haha. But as for the fentanyl users, any tips on use? I've wanted to try it for my back pain (I have a pinched nerve) but its potency seems quite daunting at first glance.... My doctor is even reluctant to write me a prescription for it in spite of the fact that 2 x 15mg Oxycodone doesn't quell the pain.

At this rate it would almost be cheaper/less hassle to bootleg my own morphine in-house.

It was daunting for me at first too. I wasn't taking enough meds when I first tried them, and it made me really sick. But they're fantastic things. You can just put them on (I use my chest) and put Tegaderm over it and it provides very effective relief for 3 days. I'm actually at the end of the 3rd day and still wearing it, gonna wait till tomorrow cause I need more Tegaderm. With the Tegaderm it stays on perfectly and no water gets in it when you shower

I've tried Vicodin, Morphine, OxyContin, and now these patches, and I really think they're the best. Most effective relief, least side effect, and inexpensive generics (unlike the OxyContin)

And according to the charts, you've reached an adequate regular dose of OxyContin to tolerate the 25 mcg/hr patch. But I guess that's up to your doc

u could be right...the opinion i have is scientifical facts

i said its relief

your addicted and u get relief EVERY TIME you take it.

ur saying u still get the SAME, great feeling everytime you redose and you've been doin this for years everyday, i dont know man, it just doesnt add up

You obviously know FUCK all about opiates .. i never said the same great feeling i said i can still feel the EFFECTS of the medication and its NOT placebo and that includes the warmth and drowsy light feeling everyone is looking for when they dose .. and there is a big difference between addiction and dependance .. which i am still not even that . i can go hours without taking any of my medication without getting any sort of withdrawl , unlike the idiots who claim they do 20 mg and are having withdrawl an hour later .. and yes i am dependant on them to relieve my pain but not dependant on needing them all the time , it simply makes my day easier if i do .. you have alot you need to learn if you think this shit is all black and white.

I've never once gotten high on any opiate. They just get me buzzed. I can keep taking more and it won't get me high, just nauseous, until I reach the point of throwing up. Further consumption just leads to falling asleep.

It really makes me wonder what other people feel from opiates, because they all seem very mild to me.

buddy, relax, HOURS?! u are addicted u moron

it makes everyones day easier, thats why we all become addicts

and the people saying they did 20mg and get WD an hour later either, have a HUGE tolerence that one is addicted to, or its just mental WD, which is worse than phyical

if i dont know "FUCK" about opiates, then just pretend im not living either, there might be a few opiates i dont know about, but EVERY SINGLE opiate i take i look up UNLIKE all my friends...

Anyone in my town/area knows to go to me for opiate informatiion, im basicly a pharmacist for my friends, and i bet a lot of BL'ers are the same way/same situation

Alright, alright children... everyone take a Valium and a ten-minute break.

We'll regroup in a few, okay?

Lot of anger resonating in here at the moment...

and either way, what i said still agrees with u if u can have an open mind and/or be smart about it, and LOOK at wat i said, i never said u were wrong u idiot
