anymore?

i cannot get stoned off opiates anymore, i need too much and its too much loot...

i took a nice month break (using codeine for withdrawals), i took an 80, felt AMAZING

A WEEK later im back to not being able to get that warm nice fuzzy feeling.

Are, actually, i know some of you are in the same situation

what do u guys/gals do to keep the high up, besides taking more

whats ur scheduale

I'd think this is the period that you should abstain for a long time if not for good.
Increasing the dose will just make things worse, continues the cycle of not getting high, using more, getting high, using, not getting high etc etc...

Not me, I've been taking the same amount of hydrocodone(35mg) a day for over 3 years, and I get equally high everytime I take it. You have to know how to sit back and "look" for the actuall high. Of course its more obvious on large doses but learn how to "channel" your opiate high.

I think I am in the same boat as you in regards to opiates. If I take opiates (usually iv heroin or oxycontin sniffed), I get high for like 3 days. My tolerance skyrockets. My body chemistry must have changed b/c I don't even get high. Then it takes me like 24-48 hours or more to switch back to suboxone.

I just think maybe this is a good thing in that my addiction is coming to a natural end.

You only have two choices: occasional use or increased dose.

Those are the only ways to stay high. Find me another one and you've found the opiate loophole.

Well , lets see lets take my pm therapy for instance ... after a year im still on 80mg extended release a day . with roughly 30 or so of immediate release throughout my day on a bad day ..

after all this time , i can still feel 2 5/325 percocet , and not just the pain killing side effects . that actual warm , drowsy blanket feeling .. while its still faint to some extent its still there .. and if someone such as me is able to take all this shit over all this time and still feel those 2 small pills .. anyone can do it .. how you decide to do that is up to you .. with me it came with staying on the same dose and becoming accustomed to just that dose ..yes there was a point a few months ago that i was ready to go to 40mg 3x a day with BT but i decided not to .

its those little decisions that will also help you . have a nice day.

Your tolerance will probably never return to baseline. As you found out it doesn't take long for your tolerance to return to what it was prior to stopping.

Unfortunetly it is one of the only ways I know to get high again (at least for a time). I take 'breaks' where I use codeine (or now taper right off with subs) for a while. That works, as you know, for a period of time.

Another thing I do is wait until I'm pretty much in early withdrawal. The longer you wait the better it is going to be IME. That is pretty much for IV only though. You can get a fantastic rush this way, then it's pretty much not able to get high again right away (unless you do it again of course:\). That is pretty much the only 2 ways I know to get high. Most of the time it is just to feel 'normal'.

i cant smoke weed anymore bc it totally doesnt work for me at all. i used to only drink alcohol and smoke weed, and then i got into taking percocets and coke. the percs and coke work awesome, either alone or together or with alcohol, but weed doesnt do anything for me anymore. im trying to reduce the amount that i take of each so ive drastically cut down and i notice that the more you cut down, the more potent the drugs become...

Can't you take Nalexone to start the horrible w/ds (near the end of the opiate high you are currently on), and then take the same amount?

I keep the tolerance down through once a day dosing. I've been on the same regimen for over a year. I take 20 mg of oxy at night. For two months when my lower back was also bothering me (I actually couldn't walk), I was on 40 mg ER twice a day. I then stepped down to 20 mg ER for about six weeks and now am back to 20 mg IR oxy once per night.

I still get decent warmth. I wouldn't call it "high". But definitely altered. It makes it easy to get to sleep as well.

I also try to take a day off during the weekends. So that way, I don't dose more than six days in a row. It isn't always be like that. Chronic pain is a bitch (about 8 years now). But at least 2-3 weekends/month, I muscle through a day without opioids.

Coming off of the 20 mg ER was my idea (and applauded by my doctor). I didn't like that I needed the medicine in the morning to feel "normal". I had about four "rough" mornings. I'm sure the process was made easier because I didn't discontinue the nightly IR doses.

i keep my oxy use to two out of the seven days of the week....i still get REAL high....but not like that noddy-sedating feeling nemore. Pure energy/euphoria!

placebo/relief

my "high" lasts all of 7 seconds once the needle pierces my arm.

..after that, i'm just "all right".

i've resorted to taking anything i can to potentiate, thus getting fucked up off of everything else except the opiates. but i'll say, it's not a bad change of pace.

i was in ur same boat, thats why i got on suboxone. time to quit. prescription opiates are too expensive. im getting close to kicking the suboxone then im done with it. fuck it. opiates are poison if u dont need them, leave them for the people who need them.

There are plenty of 'oil burners'/'dope hogs', who use upwards of 50+ bags of H a day, grams of Methadone/Oxycodone, etc. Some even post here.

Most people have an optimal dose range. Studies done on narcotic addiction have shown that most people, when given access to unlimited amounts of their drug of choice through their route of administration of choice, generally increase their doses to a point and then voluntarily stop, and stay at a given dose range daily. This is basically the science behind patient controlled dosage in Methadone maintenance- most patients voluntarily stop asking for dose increases at the 80mg-250mg mark and stay there. The Swiss Rx Diamorphine program works this way too, patients mostly stop upping their dose around 400mg or 500mg two to three times a day, and stay there.

Getting the rush/high back is a main pillar behind speedball use, and adding other drugs (Benzo's, Barb's, anti-Histamines, speed, etc) to the shot. I don't recommend doing this at all. Most people can't handle it for long, and wind up dead (OD or suicide) or with serious medical compications (amputations, collapsed and hardened veins, etc).

Maintenance for a time might be a good option. MMT doesn't have to be a lifelong or long term therapy, many people use it to cool off for a few months and save up money or just to take a break from the habit. Plus you don't have to go above 20-40mg/day either, which would make going back painless.

LOL I know what you mean..man.. I have ben there many times before.

I never want to take the dose I need to ge that real high anyway because it costs way to much money. So I always try to potentiate the high as much as possible,,and sometimes I go a bit overboard and im more fucked up on benzos and diphenhydramine then the oxy, hydromorphone or morphine...rarely heroin.

I've been using opiates for the better part of 6 years and I still get high on a 80 twice. On the other hand I went through this with crack, I don't waste money on that anymore.

I'm on the 25 mcg/hr Duragesic patch

I used to take 6 Percocet a day, but I'm now down to at most 4, sometimes none since I started the patch

I always feel the patch when I wake up in the morning, and I feel the high when I take 2 Percocet at any time during the day

That made me laugh.

And in response to the thread title: Yes. I still get high, because I don't go crazy with opiates like I used to.

Looking forwards to the morphine I'm picking up tomarrow.
