First Corinthians 3:9-13, 16-17

After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.
By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, and someone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.
For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely Jesus Christ.
On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw
but each person's handiwork will be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clear and the fire itself will test the quality of each person's work.
Do you not realize that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?
If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple is holy; and you are that temple.
This a deep one, the bible has layers i read [how many ?]

But this obviously also includes oneself. God won t like it if I destroy the temple,
Seems to me like the worst to see your creation destroy his own temple, you.
So everymen has the right to choose his own destiny.
Only the destination is known, the path blurry. So must be done on intuition ?

I am who am, again. And keep out to much thinking.
I was brought up by a hardcore Atheist, allergic for any form of religion except Atheism.

I have created this thread so that we all may share our ideas and feelings about the verses that may be posted in Bible Verse of the day.

Everyone, please keep the posts friendly and respectful.

Thanks, Cheshire Kat

'Through the Devil s envy, death came in the world' [Sap. 2 : 24]
'There is immortality in kinship of wisdom' [Aldaar 8 : 17]
'the wise whom to the fleeting life seem dead, live on in the eternal' [Qu. det. pot ins. 15.]
'Mozes left from here, in ascension leaving mortal live to become immortal, called back by his Father,
who he who the two foldedness of body and spirit decided to combine, turn in a spirit, equalling the sun'. [L. v. M. 3 : 39 ;
vgl. Matth. 18 :20, Joh. 8 : 12, 2 Kor. 3 : 17] 'Sun is called, the divine/ godly oration, by Mozes' [De Somn. 1 : 15]

So as soon as i have a bible where the [...] refer too ?

And its my most accurate translation, of a part in the begin,
possible my Grandfather understriped that part. But i am open for corrections.

Now go and smite Amalek and utterly destroy all they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.

1 Samuel 15 3......don't bother look for context

Without bible i am trying to figure out how the framework.
Naming/ numbering works, and no even agood search engine is not very helpful.

Probably better strart wit a bible first, and look at the index.

If the bible has good meaning/ or a context its hidden well. Kinda dumb.
Can t solve Rubik s cube straight to hell.

Mark 8:36 What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

To expand. There is another verse that says leave the world to the worldly. Wanting power, hurting others for money, thinking only of self keeps a soul tied to earth. Again and again. This shit hole. This world is the place where Jesus was nailed to a cross for being peaceful and truthful. He was voted to be crucified right after Pontius Pilate was to release him. He wanted it known that this man has done nothing wrong. But people screamed crucify him. Jesus was basically giving people a ladder out of this shit hole. To not have to be born again and live in suffering because of dragging around a body, But people wanted to see nails through his hands and feet. Worldly people. They can have this shit hole over and over.

Actually if you remove people this planet and universe life is beautiful. Using cruelness to advance oneself at the expense of another is what is addressed with that verse. Gain the whole world, but lose your own soul.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his soul?
Good un.
It's the law of ownership of anything imo.
Takes away the inherent one-ness of the "owner" I think... 🤔
I mean if ya don't already "own" it the soul is quashed, no?
I use parenthesis cause a part of us that is owned separates us and we cannot abide this, yes?
😆
Best

I do love the fact that nobody can ever own anything. They will eventually lose it. Even the houses we live in are borrowed. Hundred years from now someone else will be on this land and then they will say they own it. Nobody ever really owns anything, yet everything is a part of us.

Efeziërs 5: 22-33

".... in short, also you [♂️] must love especially everybody, and your own wife as if she was you.
And the woman should have
[a certain degree of] awe for you." [Italics are mine] rest a rough translation.

This a controversial, its in a online bible quote, read part of a written bible that said more like,
'a man s body is owned by his woman, and the woman s body owned by her man.'
Suggesting mutual equality instead of a segregation of the sexes. And female s as submissive.
This version seem s very male oriented.

Been there/ reality, at a service, and the kids program portrayed Philistine woman as whores,
for seducing poor Samson.
Who was got no blame, but was bombarded as victim, of a group of perverse woman.
Thats the world turned inside out imo. Kakalawaka, Samson just was probably on PeeVee.

And and had a good time with the lot, and later came to senses,
and then they fantasiest this plot in some bibles.

And there is Delilah he met in Gaza with who we apperently fell in love, a prostitute.
Prostitute, isn t that the way to describe a selfdependend/ sellsufficient woman in those days.
And has nothing to do with the job that s given that name.
To people selling their body for sex. As job ?

Which version would you advice ?

English or Hebrew fine too [maybe better then the possibly biased onei just read, Dutch one of the many],.
Just the closest to the real thing is litterally what i am looking for.

As the deteced differences allready appear between different version s.
Precisely what Bolland, G.J.P.J./ Philosphere books are about interpretation and misinterpretaions.
Aswell as the accidental, or on purpose, changes through translation.

I do not wish to influence you in any way, so what I am going to suggest is that you try:

Bible website

You can do all the reading without signing up, and it's all free :)

This particular website allows you to read the Bible in over 60 versions. This way you can not only choose which version to read, but compare the different translations with each other. These are in various languages, so it would be best if when you quoted a verse it would be an English since most of the BL's use English on Bluelight. 👍

The version of the Bible can be an entire subject for a thread

No on Bluelight its all most assumed your English, hence 'Guese it by your reply English is not your native language'.
So itsconsensus its used. Offcourse not most are, not even in the US they don t really write/speak English though close enough.

For me its tough, imagine some one from France. They have it real rough, guessing.

Actually that was a suggestion not a rule, but ...

No you're right... 🤔

Post it the most obscure language you can think of. Just don't be surprised if the post gets no comments or your idea never gets understood. 👍

Fonck, Leopold. "Epistle to the Hebrews". The Catholic Encyclopedia. Vol. 7. New York: Robert Appleton Company, 1910. Web: 30 Dec. 2009.

" ... and finally, by opposing the high-priesthood of Christ,
after the order of Melchisedech,
to the Levitical priesthood after the order of Aaron"

So basically distanced him away from what the bible proclaims,
Christians and the institutes and ego approaches setting in.
Pissing in he wind, no idea why Melchizedeck verse was removed.
Censorized ? The bible censured, that would make propaganda.
Not a holy book, a powertool to rule the mass.

A verse is a verse right. Will just keep outta sight,
As Philospher. JAH Ratafarai.

Checked the bible verse of the day thread.
And half is filled talking about quotes, recipes.
A planned vacation, destination. See there lot of sweeping to do.
Seen enough all are equal or not. That my line.

'Hail Mary Mallon' and their song on the beast 'Jonathan'.
Really feast to watch and as the bible imo. deep.
Made 2014. Bit harder to follow then the Bible too.
It more complex then how the Bible is written.
But youtube you can slow down [if needed]

Melkizedeck Psalm 110:

"The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent: 'Thou art a priest for ever after the manner of Melchizedek.¨ JPS 1917
"In the New Testament, references to Melchizedek appear only in the Epistle to the Hebrews, though these are extensive (Hebrews 5:6, 10; 6:20; 7:1, 10, 11, 15, 17, 21).

Jesus Christ is there identified as "a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek",
quoting from Psalm 110:4.
"

But as it was removed and see one rule counts not for all.
I am gone, but no troubles and pray on.

Matthew 2:1-12

After Jesus had been born at Bethlehem in Judea during the reign of King Herod, suddenly some wise men came to Jerusalem from the East
asking, 'Where is the infant king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose and have come to do him homage.'
When King Herod heard this he was perturbed, and so was the whole of Jerusalem.
He called together all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, and inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
They told him, 'At Bethlehem in Judea, for this is what the prophet wrote:
And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, you are by no means the least among the leaders of Judah, for from you will come a leader who will shepherd my people Israel.'
Then Herod summoned the wise men to see him privately. He asked them the exact date on which the star had appeared
and sent them on to Bethlehem with the words, 'Go and find out all about the child, and when you have found him, let me know, so that I too may go and do him homage.'
Having listened to what the king had to say, they set out. And suddenly the star they had seen rising went forward and halted over the place where the child was.
The sight of the star filled them with delight,
and going into the house they saw the child with his mother Mary, and falling to their knees they did him homage. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
But they were given a warning in a dream not to go back to Herod, and returned to their own country by a different way.
Nice timing CK on the epiphany and the 12th day off Christmas. I happen to think parts of the world got it right celebrating on 1/5. When the wise men realized what was up. 12/25 the birth, 1/5, the 12th day of Christmas the Wise Men declaring the new born king.

I really try to tie each passage with respect to the current RC liturgical calendar so there is some order and sense to my posts there. Usually the Epiphany is celebrated on Jan 6th, just as you say; but this year it was celebrated on Sunday, Jan 5th. Who am I to say, right? ;)

Yes this year confused me as they bring it back to the 5th because it fell on a Monday. But 1/6 is the correct date.

I studied a lot of religions, they're basically all the same they have an exalted one, whether it be god, buddha, the Indian people have their female person I mean just a higher being, law of Attraction has the universe whatever vibration you're creating etc. Atheism has nothing no hope no nothing. My biggest question is my temple and my extracurricular activities does that go hand in hand if I keep it with things that actually come out of the Earth that are provided there I have an internal dilemma with that all the time anyone else?
