that's awesome that she has an editorial and a cover with lindsey! i love that fairy dress she is wearing in the bottom left pic. or i love the wings for sleeves. looks like she's wearing it on the cover too. it's f/w couture from chanel. same show that lindsey walks the bridal couture. edie walks in that show. she usually walks for chanel. the pic of her with red hair reminds me big time of jane birkin. gotta go watch "Obsession" now.

hate to get sucked into a completely inane aspect of pop culture, but friendships between models are so pleasant to see. probably because it seems like such a ruthless environment. yay naomi and kate.

it's strongly rumored daphne is skipping the entire s/s 13 fashion week season. "A very reliable source from the industry told me that it has nothing to do with fashion" -- someone on fashionspot who loves her and seems to be very much in the know. still sucks so much. i was crawling out of my skin for the major shows to start. i mean, it's still gonna be the coolest thing ever. but damn. minus the world's prettiest girl. sounds like it must have been something sudden, as she has a show card. even though her editorial season has been amazing, she didn't walk many f/w shows. please don't let her fade. take anyone else.

anyway. behind the scenes teasers of some soon to be released campaign she's in were posted on the house's youtube channel yesterday. this and this. only 100-something views. close to none this morning. shots are up on O'2nd's website...

does anyone know what she's wearing? specifically those earrings! i love them. she's wearing gucci on the cover but i don't like it as much. what are the s/s 2013 shows you guys are looking forward to? that chanel is awesome, and now that i have better mirroring software, i don't even have to fuss with the apple tv. i'll be watching balenciaga, dior, for sure.
 
i have lots of things to say, but i hate when that prevents me from posting. so just something quick i wanted to mention before making the next big post...

i just got an editorial internship at a local fashion publication! so not what i thought i would be doing with my creative writing degree, but i am thrilled.

ugh. elle fanning finally has more modeling work. but first of all it is a fragrance, which is boring shit for pretty movie stars like johansson and mila--exception being daphne's dior addict campaign. and even worse, it's for a label called the lolita lempicka. you named you fashion/fragrence house after a character who is kidnapped, blackmailed, abused, and raped for years on end, from the beginning to the end of what i guess you would call her adolescence? calling moby dick a whale is stupid, but whatever. misunderstanding the character lolita is repulsive. katiusha gets the same shit. lame. well, hopefully she at least looks bomb in it. WWD says it will be released the 18th.

awesome kristen got another cover, Kenickie. i have no idea who those earrings are. very cool though. kind of looks like a bowl.

supposedly this photo is in NYC from this week. which suggests that the daphne rumors are false. but i can't figure out why people think they know when and where that photo was taken. i really, really hope she walks.

for NYC, i am most looking forward to rodarte on the 11th. though that some of the shows are mercedes-benz fashion week and some are not is confusing. i better still be able to stream rodarte live. and why is benz sponsoring the only major american fashion week? come thefuck on.

one of the greatest novels ever! just often misread--especially by young girls, but i've even had professors with Phds in lit give some foolish interpretations. and always distorted in pop culture. the movie adaptations don't help.

saw nicholas k, richard chi, and tadashi shoji today. sucks the only one i was home to catch part of live, richard chi, was available in full, in HD afterward. tadashi shoji was by far my favorite! dior meets valentino. my friends favorite also, who came over to drink champagne and watch them with me. such cool blues. the green dress is awesome too. lots of them are. nicholas k felt so fall; it was lame. i really liked one of the themes they had going on at richerd chi, but i am going to wait until tomorrow to (probably) edit pics into this post. they also had a nice, lighter blue theme going on for a bit. alright, here you can see the blue walking away and some of the best...

also saw highlights from BCBGmaxazria. reminded me of The Fifth Element. but i don't really like the look of leather outside of accessories. that pink dress looked sweet. i think. hard to tell from the second they show it during the highlights.

thats awesome, i am very happy for you. fashion seems a perfect subject to keep busy with year around with, and have lots of options like traveling etc. plus free stuff(ill send my address). ive been playing hookey in the thread ;) but really glad i caught that post HAAC

yup! though only the mercedes benz fashion week channel has them in HD. and it's after the fact. there is another mercedes benz channel you can watch their shows live in lesser quality. not all shows broadcasted live are available after. and there are other sites for the ones that are MB sponsored.

this link should help with some of them. there are a bunch of sites like it. i had the best one, saved it in my bookmarks, but i am a computer idiot and it is gone. if you find any other good ones, please share.
 
caught jason wu live today. the feed wasn't great and i couldn't figure out how to stream it to the tv--which sucked because friends came over to watch the shows. the clothes were really lame. i'll give it a second chance if it goes up on vimeo or youtube in HD, but i could see them well enough to dislike it. karlie and cara both walked. was funny watching the live feed. it started so late and the camera kept on turning on and off as they were waiting. people were wandering in front of the camera and asking questions about it, and it was driving the guy nuts because they were blocking his shot.

it wasn't all a waste. we got this so badass backstage pic of cara...

i can't believe they re-touched a backstage shot. but whatever. it happens and i guess sometimes you just gotta get over it. does anyone actually appreciate them doing it? anyway--that issue aside--her hair, makeup, and nails look better with that outfit than they do with what she walked. she has the perfect attitude to make that tank top work.

another positive thing about the show was how they handled the finale where all the girls come out to do their final walk together. was very cool!

noon by noor kept on saying it was going to start soon and ended up never broadcasting the show. it did happen. people on the chat were tweeting pics. it started really late too. hopefully a bunch of today's will be up tomorrow in full.

hydro - i use airparrot to mirror my screen on to the apple tv without having to go through the apple tv's youtube set up or whatever. the mild lag is too much for watching dvds, which is the main reason i got it, but it was fine enough for watching shows.

she lost that right cuff. was so disappointed in the girl that walked behind her for not kicking it off the runway. the camera wouldn't go to the end of the runway for like 2 outfits until they cleared it.

lacoste--especially the frosted plastic jackets--and the second 2/3rds of jill stuart are pretty great too. not a huge fan of the monique lhuillier. except for the two dreses that had like spiraling upward razor cuts into them. and parts of that rich blue dress. i think hervé léger by max azria was pretty meh too. has that same leather, The Fifth Element thing going on. loved the hair though....

maybe she isn't alien enough to sustain interest. an editorial would tell. there's a model who walked hoffman who is a sure thing, but i am finished uploading pics. she was the brunette who gave the camera a sweetheart smile. not often models do that, but a bunch of them did for that show. mara had a lot of cute brunettes.

the asian girl sitting at one of the end corners at lacoste had the coolest outfit on. must have gotten her that seat!
