But cops don't work like this do they. If one cop arrests you for possession of pot another cop doesn't come along, bash him over the head and set you free does he? They both fucking lock you up.

So they're all as guilty as each other arn't they?

Not really.

The two situations are not equivalent for several reasons.

Firstly it wouldn't be practical to change the law by bashing other cops on the head (as you so charmingly put it) if you were a cop. You'd do it through pressure groups, political campaigns and possibly the media.

If a cop did bash another cop over the head just so some druggie could go free i doubt it would end well. The cop who did the bashing would end up in prison, probably for longer than the guy he helped get off, and it wouldn't change anything in the long run.

The other reason the two situations are not equivalent is that being denied the right to take recreational drugs is not the same as being denied the right to breath.

Not UK cops admittedly but there are anti-prohibitionist police organisations out there like Law Enforcement Against Prohibition in the US and UK police chiefs have also voiced anti-prohibition beliefs - on the grounds of immorality in that case.

A Welsh Chief Pig said:
"If policy on drugs is in the future to be pragmatic not moralistic, driven by ethics not dogma, then the current prohibitionist stance will have to be swept away as both unworkable and immoral. Such a strategy leads inevitably to the legalisation and regulation of all drugs."

"The law is the law. In the meantime, I will continue to enforce it to the best of my ability despite my misgivings about its moral and practical worth."

Yes they still follow orders but at least some voice their disapproval for some of what they are obliged to do occasionally. Not all pigs are ignorant pigs. Most are, but not all.

While you can't agree with everything Raoul Mout has done I must admit to feeling a warm ready brek glow when I read this:

'Last night I called 999 and declared war on Northumbria Police before shooting an officer on the West End A69 roundabout in his T5. Sitting there waiting to bully someone.

'Probably a single mum who couldn't afford her car tax.

I must say there are times that I can identify with this. Alas it's a futile war. Better to channel your energies into reforming the fuzz.

The copper who got shot in the face, is gonna lose his sight and need treatment for life yet he's forgiven Moat and has no malicious feeling towards him and hopes that as soon as possible he can get back to being a copper and protecting the public.

Seems like a good guy to me.

Despite his injuries PC Rathband, who is married to Kath, a nurse, and has a son, Ashley, 16, and daughter, Mia, 12, is determined to stay in his job. 'I will just have to make the change from being a policeman to being a blind policeman,' he told the Sun.

He added that those who are calling Moat 'a legend and a hero need to look up the definition of those words, because they have got it wrong. Raoul Moat was a deranged, evil monster'.

Somethings not adding up is it spade. Can we safely conclude the "I bear him no malice" bollocks was police propaganda?

I get where you're coming from augusta. Perhaps the best we can hope for is to vent a little fury on a drug board now and again.

Exsqueeze me? Can you link me to the post where I called Moat a "hero" Bear? I've called him nothing of the sort.

If you must insult me then at least try and insult me for something I've actually said rather than what you've imagined I've said.

I don’t normally reply or even waste my time replying to people like you but honestly, nobody needs to 'try' to insult you, your immature and troll like posts/messages do such a good job of that already. You are a internet troll nothing more and nothing less - you bring nothing to the site or threads and I’m probably not alone in thinking that I really couldn’t care less if you posted again or not.

Starting a thread like this and saying how seeing a guy (regardless of his job) who had been shot in the face gives you a ‘ready break kind of glow’ just about sums up what type of person you are. You then go onto explain that your gran got robbed and the police didn’t turn up to help so that, in your mind, justifies this kind of behaviour.

I think this is my first post directly to you and probably my last as you are simply not worth my time.

Did you expect the copper to label Moat as a hero and legend like Issy?

You claimed I called Moat a "hero". I've done nothing of the sort. Presumably you're feeling a bit embarrassed at being wrong and so you're feeling the need to go way over the top in insulting me and casting judgements on my character to "get your own back". Do you feel any better for it son?

If the best you can do is to insult someone for something they havn't even said then please don't bother replying and wasting my time ever again. You sound like an exceptionally humourless and unpleasant individual.

Remember all you know of me is a few posts on a drug board made to pass a little time. Don't take it so personally. If we met we'd probably like each other.

Well no spade but it's a bit strange isn't it - "I bear him no malice but he's a deranged evil monster".

Reminds me of a TV Programme I saw once where an old guy with an allotment was filming another OAP vandalising his vegetables and saying to himself "I don't wish him any harm but I hope his balls fester"

LOL. :D

All hail Issy, King Troll.

It's not trolling, it's just stating an opinion. If you notice I don't start taking it personally and calling anyone names until they call me names - and even then I try and avoid making nasty personal attacks like Bear and his unpleasant nonsense. I'm perfectly willing to argue the toss in good humour. Isn't that the point of threads like this?

If someone finds an opinion "offensive" then why not just stop reading the thread? It reminds me of Mary Whitehouse types complaining about television they don't like.

Downing Street is to contact Facebook to express the Prime Minister's dismay after hundreds of people left messages of sympathy on the website for gunman Roaul Moat.

David Cameron said yesterday that he simply could not understand why anyone would feel sorry for a 'callous murderer'.

Now Mr Cameron has instructed an official at No 10 to contact Facebook to express his anger.

But last night the website refused point blank to take the site down, despite the fact that its members are openly attacking a policeman he blinded and bemoaning the fact he did not kill many more.

The tributes were condemned by Britain's most senior police officer, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson, who said they were 'extraordinarily disappointing'.

Last night a spokeswoman for Facebook said the group would not be removed.

'Lots of people have different opinions on the situation; what is right and wrong,' he said.

'Just as conversations happen in pubs and on the bus, they happen online. No one person's opinion is right and wrong.

'Ninety per cent may think he is an despicable man - but those 10 per cent who think he is a hero are entitled to their opinion.

'We've looked at this group and it doesn't violate our statement of rights and responsibilities. Just because people don't like others' opinions, that is no reason to take it down.'

^^^anyone who uses facebook in the UK or anywhere else is insane. Why would you create a log of your friends, interests, and every person that you know? If you're on the run, the cops know every possible person who will help you out.

and as far as police corruption goes:
man I've had cops straight up tell me how and why they'd frame me. I've been illegally searched, harassed, and asked for ID about a million times. I know that cops date rape high school girls and pull them over and asking for a flash of tits to get out of a ticket and it goes on and on and on.

it makes me mad, but then what? It's all a big nothing. What am I supposed to do with all of this rage? Just start knocking off cops?

If you hate the police, start videotaping them and hold them accountable for what they do. If you see someone gettin stomped on the corner, then pull out your cell phone cam, post that bitch on youtube and show the world. And then it turns into something. Ya know?

I think a lot of people would find it debatable as to whether describing yourself as feeling a 'warm ready brek glow' in response to someone actually being shot in the face could ever be good humour. Most of your other points in this thread are similarly disgusting to many.

Either this really is your opinion on the matter, in which case you should understand the strong reaction you provoke, or else you are trolling, in which case again you should understand the strong reaction you provoke.

If i seriously advanced the idea that i think all prostitutes are worthy of rape and it doesn't count because they are not really people anyway, then i would get a similar response. If i made that point in jest without making that obvious then i would still expect a similar reaction.

If you really wanted to argue the toss in good humour you would start threads that were not so dark in their subject matter.

I don't think we share the same sense of humour MrM. I'm happy making dark comments about police because they are in a position of incredible power and they persecute people I care about.

I wouldn't say something about prostitutes because they arn't wielding and abusing power.

Incidentally, I wouldn't say everyone has "taken offence" at this thread, it's probably about 50-50. I've read quite a few people in the thread commenting in a similar vein to my original post.
