critique the song above

5/10
Radiohead has always been one of those obscure bands that made it too far into the limelight and kinda lost some of their pizazz. If I had never heard of Radiohead before, I'd love it, but the way it stands, I just like it. I will say the lyrics are definitely uplifting, the music is not exactly pleasant though not near annoying, but the composition baffles me. The chorus is not defined, the verses have no real stricture...Overall this left me confused.

Enigma - T.N.T. For The Brain

^^
is your nick an Ornette Coleman reference? If so: props.

Talking Heads are my favorite band, but burning down the house is nowhere near the top of my list. Its well put together, its catchy, but after more than 20 years of listens, it reveals itself to be kinda empty, lyrically speaking. I still love the percussion and the bass line, though. 7/10

Michael McDonald - I keep Forgetting

Yea, it is. I love Ornette Coleman. I take a lot of my playing style from him. I love free jazz. Yea Burning Down The House is not my favorite TH song either but I figured it would be most approachable for someone who doesn't listen to them plus that performance rocks as does the entire Stop Making Sense movie.

8/10 ...It only lost points because I was waiting for some more energy that never came. The lyrics were well versed, well sung, well harmonized, and the composition was great as well...I never knew Shinedown could make music like this, it's so 'out of their shell'...Good stuff, thanks!

Keane - Bad Dream

5/10 kind of trippy but too wierd musically for me.

lyrics

The wind of change transformed the plains into the desert
And on the lower levels demons scream delight
Places of worship have ceased to serve the purpose
The age of reason took a ride into the night
Where there were idols there is idleness
Unholy churches light their fires upon the moor
They sealed the pact with blood and honour
The machine spits blood and lurches into war

[Chorus:]
We have fallen, it leaves such an embittered taste
Erectus is now crawling, we have fallen from grace

There is a black tree in the wilderness
Older than time itself and riddled with disease
It feeds on clotted blood and rotting flesh
The hunger we all seem too willing to appease
When all before you lose their heads into the block
When e'en the proudest bend their knees before the flock
They seek salvation in the depths of madmen's eyes
Knee deep in blood and gore they look toward the skies

They sought the means by which to transform the gods
Burnt the books, created death camps on the way
A new religion from the ashes of the old
A social order one of masters and slaves
They dreamt of everyman, we merely have regressed
Into the animal that can't perceive the will
Look at the embryo, so twisted and grotesque
This is your superman, the legacy to kill

[Chorus:]
We have fallen, the losers in the human race
Erectus is now crawling, we have fallen from grace
