Ah Yes...
I'm already very familiar with this song. Probably has one of the most kick-ass basslines of all time.
It's very much a product of its time. Textbook 70's prog rock. Excellent musicianship, unconventional songwriting with the kitchen sink thrown in for good measure. It's not a Yes song unless there is at least 900 different riffs.
I used to be huge into prog. My tastes have simplified since. Just give me a groove and a good chorus. But it's fun to occasionally listen to some totally over-the-top musical wankery. I certainly couldn't make music like this.
I don't dig myself but I got mad respect for it.

7/10 not really my thing, but I can imagine that its good for those in the know. Love the film clip though, no seriously, its awesome! Almost distracted me from actually listening to the song.

Birds of Tokyo - Silohettic

I give it an 8.5/10
I don't listen to much rap or hip hop. That said, I thought this was a great song. I don't know how much the drugs I'm high on affected my rating. The lyrics were excellent and moving, and the topic was an important one. It was nice to hear a positive message for a change, instead of the usual mindless violence and nauseating extreme materialism I've come to expect from mainstream hip-hop and rap.

The vocals do sound a bit like traditional Christian rock vocals which kind of turns me off TBH. I think the song is put together and the harmony is an added plus. The sound of the instrumental is pretty reminiscent of a genre I love so another plus. But the vocals ultimately made me 'ehh'-ish.

6/10
