comparison of pot between north and south?

Nay, the best bud I get is generally from the mass area due to MA being decrimed and pretty generally accepted everywhere in Boston (if you're white, that is). Maine doesn't come to mind persay when I hear "fire bud" but they certainly have some great MMJ, I know first hand. Not the best I've had, but it deff ranks up there. I've been around the country and New England has the varity scene pretty well covered whereas I generally find the best indica strains come from Cali. I wouldn't laugh off Maine though, it was one of the earlier states to medicinalize and that alone gets them props and a head start on several other states, quality-wise.

*golf clap*

ah and to add and more specifically addresses you HoL, I don't think the fact that I currently live in a state that boarders another state makes me a fan of anything they do. If anything I'd want to say NH has the best bud by that logic, but that certainly isn't true -- only reason Nh has good bud is because of the states we boarder. In fact I'm ashamed NH hasn't come to a consensus on decriminalizing yet when we're boarding both ME and MA, and I would like to think of NH as a progressive state.

Personally, when I think Maine, I first think old retired people and lobster 8) That doesn't make it true, though... even if there is a lot of old people, and lobster.

i'd be willing to bet when it comes to weed in the US most minds go West when thinking of great Buds

I live in Maine, USA nuff fucking said about what quality I smoke

im not saying there isnt good bud in Maine but this statement here is stupid. saying you live in Maine is not enough said, and infact you yourself realized thats not enough to be said because you qualified you statement with some remarcks about MMJ n dispensaries like that matters

you got 6 in Maine? there are more then 6 on certain blocks in LA, So guess what when people think about great Bud and they Arent from Cali or NE, they still think about Cali, thats all im sayin

lmao

since when does it matter how many dispensaries there are? were talking about quality, not quantity

:|

HoL was discussing the public consensus and popularity of which regions of the country have more noteworthy marijuana industries/black markets/cultures/whatever you want to call them.

Yes, the thread was originally about quality, but it quickly stemmed into 2 sub-topics: public consensus and empirical evidence regarding cannabis quality across the nation.

Try to read every post in a thread so as not to respond in ignorance in the future. :D

Yeah, I'm not sure if I like where this is going but we'll see. I think it's dicksizing is a representative "my region has better shit than your region" way, but I'm just always kinda curious what else is around. Shocked no one said this yet, but how about New York City? We generally have high quality (and overpriced) everything, drugs included. (Yep, sorry my non-existent penis just made itself nice and large for a few sentences.) Western NY, where I actually am...you can find okay things but doesn't compare to NYC. I've heard good things about most of the northeast in general.

I live in the midwest. Guess where. Here all i use to be able to find was mids or swag. Now it seems like that shit disappeared. All i can find is people sellin dank. Maybe its cuz thats wat everyone wants. Or cuz thats all i ever look for. Now that i think about it i cant remember the last time i herd of someone sellin anything other than good nug or danky danks. From wat i have seen my area has good shit but is overpriced

i agree jibult...the biggest problem in the northern states, especially in the city, is the massive explosion of the prices...ive heard some pretty crazy things about what people try to sell weed for

and btw...i do read all the replies, this is my post lol..he had a couple other posts as well so i felt like speaking out

It's cool, it just seemed like you got to one post that started veering off-topic and smashed on the reply button.

No worries, brutha.

i cannot find inferior weed in my area (which is annoying). it is always quite good. the general rule of thumb, as aforementioned, is that you can find anything anywhere; you just have to know the right people.

excluding california and maybe a select few medicinal states (colorado?), i'd like to think that the quality of marijuana nationwide is relatively consistent.

On the west coast, in general, the farther north you go in CA, the better the weed. This is less the case post 215- med grade pot is more available down south than the shit from mex. This Axiom is true in Arizona were Northern AZ (eg flagstaff) has better buds than tuscon or phoenix last I checked.

Oregon has always had decent weed as has Washington- from what I have heard. It used to be the weed in west of the rockies was better than east, colorado having a decent kind scene. The weed I smoked with my father in law- who warned me to go slow because this is stoney stuff was disappointing mid grade to scwagy bud. Back then, in late 2006, we found very good bud in the Carribean during a family cruise we went on.

Now Alaska used to have and still does manage to produce some amazing bud. Also Hawaii, in my opinion, produces the best bud on the planet, so the west seems to have the upper hand and most importantly, the North.

Unless you have moved about the entire region you are attempting to speak for, you can really only comment on where you are and the surrounding areas. If you live along a major drug corridor, you may find that the quality and price are much better. If the temperature and landscape permit large outdoor farms, you may also find that you are able to obtain fresher, higher quality, better priced bud...

So, having lived in Charlotte, Baltimore, and parts of N.J; I would have to say that the bud in Charlotte (The South) is much better in quality and variety - Especially variety. Again, accounting for my own experience, I have the Appalachian Mountains to thank for this, as well as, an avid pot-smoking community in and around the City.

What about variety?

I've consistently read that in prominent areas, large cities, and marijuana hot-spots like Cali; varieties (in terms of low to high grade) are harder to come by. There is no doubt that a dispensary has variety, but outside of these designated zones --i.e the street; does a semi-comparable variety exist? This was my major issue with areas in N.J and in Baltimore... No variety and overpriced weed. I really enjoy where I am now. There is a perfect blend and price of bud regularly available.

at shanefrommaine, nobody was arguing with you about the quality of maine buds, but the public doesnt think of maine when you say fire buds. nuff said

I find this agreeable, but let's also agree to drop the subject. It's getting more personal than being on topic at this point.

Let's come to a consensus on top 10 states, and maybe I can turn this SOB into a poll.
