Invega is used a lot partly due to the long-term depot shots and because it's technically the only med for schizoaffective disorder, which is hard to tell the difference from schizophrenia. It also treat schizophrenia. So there are lots of people on it. I can't imagine it's that fun for the first few months, but it's definitely not a take-it-and-better med. We just aren't there yet. Six months to a year is generally the period one is supposed to wait. It's long by most measures, but it may also just be worth it, as the psychiatric functions seem to suggest. Lots of people are quick to post negative reactions. We don't really see a randomized sample here on BL, otherwise...

I read that it doesn’t have a weight gain effect and read a lot of reviews that it doesn’t effect working or anything like that. It doesn’t say significant weight gain in the side effects and is known to be less of a sedated. You’re the first person who I’ve talked to that’s given it a bad review

No one ever has anything good to say on this site most of you aren’t even mentally I’ll and are complaining that Invega took away your life try actually being sick and having to be on Invega and dealing with the negative effects of the illness and being scared to switch medication in hopes you won’t relapse. Suck it up and go workout, take vitamins be optimistic and wait six months for Invega Sustenna to leave your body completely. I feel like death and have been on it for a little over a year. I have chest pains, eye twitches in a blank fog most of the day, can’t sleep and am 15 pounds overweight and can’t workout I don’t feel like doing a fucking thing and have no hope for the future. Everything fucking sucks and on top of it Invega has made me look way different and I can’t even hold down a fucking conversation. It’s 5:52 pm and I’m in bed miserable.

Hi, I have been taking Invega Sustenna 150mg monthly injection for 1 year and 2 months now. I have been going through the same shitty feeling the entire time I was on it which is basically periods of really low moods/drowsiness/tiredness/and no motivation to want to do anything 15-20 days after getting injection, then I start feeling a bit better when its near time to get injection again (last 5-10 days), then I get injected again and its back on the rollercoaster. It's been up and down this whole year and I think some people who felt what I felt would possibly commit suicide but that just isn't an option for me... I am going to take a leap and stop taking the injection even though I am being forced to take it by treatment authority but guess what I don't give a shit, this is my body and I should have a say what goes in it especially if its making me feel miserable!

So my question is... how long do I have to be off Invega to feel normal again. I have memories of being a young kid feeling happy when I woke up every morning... I really want that back.

Side note: The meds did take away delusions I use to have even when i was on abilify.... but with the added bonus of making me miserable day and night

Chances are you won't get that feeling back that is why most people commit suicide
1 year recovery time minimum...2 years is common with people who took + 5 injections

Wut a nightmare dunno how you guys managed this for 12 months
Don't worry bro, I used to be like you with extreme anhedonia, depression, restlessness, insomnia and memory loss. Trust me it comes back back around the 5th 6th month. However, expect full recovery at month 12. What you CAN do now is put your hate of psychiatrists aside for a moment and go so him/her. He'll prescribe antidepressants and sleeping pills which really really help. You really have no choice at the the moment or you'll continue suffering. I'm begging you bro. Love you stay strong.
