I believe you are right about gluten, and I am also aware that pretty much everyone on Earth is sensitive to Gluten just on different levels. So I bet your friend is right with the fact that humans are not meant to be eating gluten food!
A low carb diet is naturally a gluten free diet, as in most cases gluten food contains lots of carbs and I am on a low carb diet i.e. Ketogenic diet so I am experiencing the benefits of being gluten-free naturally.
As for dairy, many people do have sensitivities.. hence lactose intolerance... I've also heard it being an impediment to weight loss. I did cut it out for a while because I wanted to make sure its not causing any bloating for me which I found out it doesn't (I used to be lactose intolerant somehow I can tolerate it now!)
You can find MCT oil at the Health Food Store, and brain octane oil if you're lucky, although coconut oil is fine, thats how I started drinking Bullet Proof Coffee. You can maximize the effects of this coffee on a high fat low carb diet because you would already be in ketosis and this coffee will just fuel u like a mofo.
As for the meds, yeah, too bad we didn't know of the alternative routes that could have been taken at the start. But at least we found them now and are reversing and hopefully we will turn out better than we were last when we come out the other side of the tunnel.
It is imperative to do work on yourself such as exercise, diet, and supplement.. Omega 3's Vitmanins Rhodiola, NACs the whole deal, go see a Naturopath is you have to. This shit will help with your energy levels and outlook on life which will help you get on with life and do the things that are necessary like exercise especially if you currently find that a gruesome activity.
